I've tried searching, and but im hoping someone can help a brother out, its finally time for my body to go back on my car and i went to close the hood and it wont shut. its about an inch above where it should be. I thought I had all my clearance issues sorted out, but i guess not. What all has to be "ajusted" (beaten with a hammer) to get this thing sealed up. If anyone wants to help me out here and save me some time that would be awesome. its a 90' 240 with a R33 rb25det.

thanks in advance!

I just used some spacers at the rear to raise the hood.

Yeah, you'll have to cut into the hood framing, like Todd said, NOT going though the HOOD, but its the metal on the underside of the hood, just take like a circular cutting wheel and go across is and use like a heat gun and a screw driver to pry the piece off once its cut to make it easier to get off it that sealant stuff is on there. Or instead of using a heat gun you could just have the engine run for awhile.

Here's the frame work im talking about on the underside of the hood.

And its going to be on your cross over pipe that the area you have to cut off and the blow off valve

Hope that helps

just bolt the hood up and slowly lower it and look at where the ribs on the hood touch the engine, then use a angle cutter just cutt of the ribs.

fyi, the ribs are attached to the flats on the hood by urethane glue. a good pry will get it to come off.

I just thought that if someone has already spent the time doing all that, they might have a picture of their own hood so i can just start cutting without all the pain of having to figure it out. Please......

Some are different that others, i only had to cut out above the throttle body some guys have to butcher theirs, just lay a wet rag on high points on your engine, lower your hood onto the engine then back up, then cut the wet peices.

Yeah, tony gets back from the airforce in like a week or so, he sold his s14 to mike, who boosted it up to 20psi on the IHI turbo and made around 350rwhp or CLOSE.... And then he blew the headgasket and is rebuilding it, or so i hear, Tony is helping me out with my wiring job, so hes gonna be a big help.
