hello, I guess i'm new here (usually post on other 240 boards). anyway, got the trans out, new clutch and flywheel: fidanza and basic exedy. can't wait to drive! but i'm thinin i need a transmission to do so

i've read things like take off the exhaust, or turn the transmission 180 degrees, etc etc.

see, i had the transmission in last week, but then i realized i broke the crankshaft position sensor! so now that i have it, i've been trying to get this thing in without breaking the sensor again but have no luck doing so.

any recommendations without removing exhaust? (it's rusted and i just don't want to spend the time repairing...) we were thinking on trying to jack up the engine slightly on the oil pan, but i'm almost scared of cracking it, i just need the engine titled slightly.

damn firewall!

anyway, if you guys could offer any more insight it would be VERY much appreciated.

thank you!Robert

put the trans in first, then put the sensor in.

yeah, i could try that... it WOULD be easier. i read on 240sx.org (i think) to install the trans in upside down (180 degrees). only problem is when i put it in the right way, i am unable to rotate because the trans is hitting part of the exhaust, i'll probably take your suggestion, thanks nistech!
