Okay here is the bead, i have a 98 240sx, it has wide five spoke (5-lug) wheels (16X7 inch). Call me Obsessive Compulsive but i am Sick of them(wheels), the clear coat is coming off (probably from previous ovner using a really acidic cleaner on the rim) and i want to paing them, because eveytime i was alittle more brake dust stays on the wheel. it looks like crap! So, i'll be repainting them. this is where the dilema comes in, i was going to get a sandblaster and do all the stuff myself but then (realizing i haven't got the time to have my wheels missing off my car for 2 months while i find the time to finish the job) i figured how much can it cost to get someone else to paint them?

SO WHAT COLOR!??I was going to go with a blacked out look and paint the wheels the same color as the car (gloss black), but i then i saw someone else do that and it looked lik crap..?so i thought white? or maybe broze..?

Here is my exact car with chrome rims (he has the same rims as mine but they are chrome)

Another good detail of the rims.

Alright so let me know what color you think, i am game not conservative i'll consider every color.

1. i would suggest getting them powder coated as opposed to painting them. Then i would suggest gunmetal, silver, or a custom color...

Yeah i though about the powder coating, but it was way expensive around my area and after all these are the factory rims, if i am going to shell out allot of money to get them powder coated i'd rather just buy new rims?

that is the dilema i cam across, i could either spend 400-500 on a nice set of rims or pay 200-300 on poweder coating.I'm just doing this to get me though till the end of the year. then after i put on the turbo i'll get the car painted and buy a new rim set.

how come you wanna wait till you get your turbo to get new rims? why waste money getting you rims painted when you could spend that on a new set of rims right now.......

just put up with your current rims till you have enough for new ones. if you are sick of them, painting them will only help temporarily. save some, and get new rims. just my opinion.

If you're gonna paint them I'd suggest a darker color. I've got a black coupe--my wheels are anthrocite center with aluminium outer rim. They are like these except the spokes are anthracite(dark grey/black--color)http://www.washingtontire.com/images/loco/142.jpg
