What are the alternatives to getting rid of the god awful antenna on my car? Are there ways of getting rid of it and still being able to use my radio. I know I've seen the little rood mounted mini antennas but what is involved with using those?

I just unscrewed my antenna completely and radio comes in fine, not that I listen to it. But I did check.

is a power antenna a viable alternative? I found a radioshack one on ebay for around 20 dollars..worked out just fine, pretty easy to install..only thing was i couldnt bolt it in very well, so i zip tied it..(hasnt budged a bit, worked great as far as i'm concerned)

I shaved mine and bought an internal antenna($20). It mounts in the upper corner of your windsheild, has a hot wire, ground, and then the plug for the receiver. Really small and looks better than the metal one sticking up on one side of the car.
