So as my signature and various comments have indicated, I'm buying a '96 240sx SE 5-speed from a friend of mine, and already have a for-sure buyer lined up for my Probe GT, but have been waiting on the title from Oregon to be reissued.

Well, my mom in Oregon got the title today! She's overnighting it to me in SC tomorrow, which means it'll be in my hands on Thursday - which, conveniently, I have off of work. ;)

Thus, I shall be S14'd by the end of the week. How cool am I. :D

very cool. you can actually post w/ some authority here now, because your car will be better than others : ) when you had the PGT, your car was the floor mat of every 240 on here :D

Aww...I'm gonna miss my Prizzobe. :(

If only you knew the number of people who actually think I'm taking a step DOWN by getting rid of the Probe for a 240. Hah. :D

Hey man I was actually looking at Turbo IIs and Probes before I found the 240... how much did they sell for?

lol Ben. :D

My TII was actually a non-running project car....I bought it for $500 with an '86 block sitting in the engine bay. I sold the block out of it for $250 and then later sold the car itself for $500. Ended up making a $250 profit. ;) In good solid running condition though, '89-91 TurboIIs can go for as high as around $6k...

Sale price on my Probe (in fantastic condition) is $3000. Getting more for a '93 would be a huge accomplishment...'94s should be around 4k, and so on.

You'd be surprised. A PGT is nothing to be laughed at. Stock for stock, they are pretty much gonna have similar handling (minus the fact that one is FWD and one is RWD). The PGT has 225/50s for better stick from the factory AFAIK, pretty decent spring rates, and F/R anti-roll bars (yes, the SE has those too, I know). I'd say it would just be a driver vs. driver test with those two cars.

Yep.

Probes are outstanding FWD cars....they really do handle nicely. However, after spending time behind the wheel of a 240, and then getting back into the Probe, they feel MUCH more nose-heavy.

Overall though, the 225/50/16 stock tires give fantastic grip and the cars really hug the curves. They're quite fun to throw around. :)

Mine however is a fully-optioned automatic, so it's substantially heavier than the S14 I'm about to buy. My Probe probably hovers around 3100lbs as opposed to 2700.

But for FWD, the Probe GT definitely gets my vote for handling/acceleration. They're quick.
