Merry Christmas fellow Nissan enthusiasts. I am preparing to install a turbo setup on my ka24de. I would like to use an fmu on low boost while I save for injectors / maf / ecu / tuning. I have read that an 8:1 is ideal for a t25 setup however I believe my turbocharger will flow more cfm than a t25.
My setup: isis bottom mount Mani v2, huge front mount intercooler, isis rs3871, 3' downpipe and exhaust, -3 an feed line with .060 restrictor, -10 an oil return, hks adjustable wastegate actuator.

Which ratio would you recommend based on your experience?
Any tips or general turbo install tips?

Thanks,
Bruce

Personally, I would not ever use that kind of rising rate FMU. Do it right or you may be looking for a new engine. Everyone always says "I'll only use low boost" then either you get throttle-happy or something malfunctions and BOOM - detonation and you're done. I've seen this dozens of times. I highly advise you to wait until you have the proper fueling control.

If you want to drive it while waiting / saving up cash, you can disconnect the wastegate and let it flap.

My plan is to use an 8:1 fmu and set base timing to about 16 degrees. At only about 4-5 psi. Is this safe? Then once I have the funds go for an rs enthalpy or jwt ecu

I didn't know people still used FMUs, ha ha, takes me back about 15 years for sure. Do it correctly and just wait to put the turbo on when you can get the right parts for the job. There is a reason why people stopped using FMUs...
