To be honest, I would wait until you have more than a weekend to do it. Give yourself some time to clean the bay while the motor is out. That's just my recommendation though.

Anyways, make sure to have all of your fluids, new oil and fuel filter, and new spark plugs. How are you converting your harness? Are you doing it yourself or paying someone to do it. If you're doing it yourself make sure you have plenty of electrical tape, solder, and wire loom. If you are replacing all of the gasket, including the head gasket, go ahead and buy some ARP head studs If you have a way, do a compression test before putt the motor in.

When do my swap I bought easy 200 bucks in other random crap that I ended up needing. Unfortunately, I can't remember every single thing. If I remember anything else Ill let you know. Good luck

Ya I plan on cleaning and painting the bay while the motor is out. I'm mainly waiting on dry weather to do it as I can ride my r6 while the car is down. A weekend is my goal but I'm pretty possitive that won't happen. I forgot the fluids on the list lol! but I have redline synthetic for the motor and redline gear oil for the trans, also have power steering fluid and antifreeze on stand by as well. Already put a walbro pump in a few months back and replaced the fuel filter. I will be doing the harness myself I have plenty of solder, liquid electrical tape and heat shrink on hand.

I just know doing 2 big swaps at once I've got to be forgetting something. I am going to bring the sr home out of my storage next weekend and hit the yards for some connectors to get the harness all done. I keep going back and forth on the head gasket. I got the complete kit but don't know if I should just do everything else and save the head gasket for if it blows later.

Well I planned on having mine done within 2 weeks. It was about 3 months before it was running, which lasted about 2-3 months and it all messed up. I doubt you'll have near as many problems as I did, but just be prepared. Also, when I pulled all of my gaskets off the only one that looked like it needed replacing was the exhaust manifold gasket and the gasket between the exhaust mani and turbo. Everything else looks brand new, granted mine was an s14 sr. I'm pretty sure I might have caused a few of the problems I had by taking it apart, but that was the first time I have ever torn into an engine. As long as you are confident with what you are doing and you don't rush it, I think you will be fine

ya I have done plenty of engine swaps in other cars involving putting motors in cars that never came in them so I'm figuring putting a motor in my car that was already in an s13 should be pretty straight forward. I messed around with vw's for a while so I am very familiar with taking engines apart lol. Now that I think about it my ka is sold as soon as it comes out and part of the deal is I have to put it in the buyers car for him so I definately won't be done with the sr in a few days. Going to shoot for 2 weeks as the Ka install will take up a weekend. I just can't stand this damned auto and need to get the 5 speed in lol
