Getting parts from Japan

This post is a general introduction for what I hope can be a resource for all the real JDM gear heads out there. Maybe you have a project that's missing that specific part, well I might be able to help. My name is McGuire, and I currently live in Tokyo currently so I have access to a plethora of parts. The used car market is quite a bit different here in japan and when cars get wrecked, or due to the high costs of maintaining an older car, are junked, they get parted out and the parts are sold to companies like UPGarage, or Parts Off. These companies sell parts at a reduced rate. Also, I do have some access to Yahoo Auctions Japan(if you want to look at it use google chrome and it will automatically translate, somewhat, some of it will be gibberish but you can still search for parts by motor or car). The exchange rate varies here, currently hovering about 100y per 1 US dollar. It varies slightly. I can ship large boxes, but weight is an issue so large parts such as wheels, large engine parts or anything like that would have to be discussed case by case and I can't promise I could make it work, but ask away, worst I can say is no. As parts vary greatly from week to week I cannot guarantee a timeline, all I can do is help search and see if I can lay my hands on parts. The communication will be the trickiest part as I am about 13 hours ahead depending on where you live stateside. There are also stores here that sell new parts, TONS of customization parts, lights, trim and the like, but I would like to focus on japan specific parts, I'm not trying to be a supermarket. The part where this helps you is that I can ship parts to you via USPS, at domestic rates. Also, I think my time is worth something, so I will negotiate a small fee on a case by case basis. I'm not going to charge you a lot, just a little bit to offset my time, seems only fair. I will post some links and such later on to give people a place to start looking.
