Hey everybody, i have a 1989 nissan d21 4x4 3.0 and im getting no injector pulse. im getting solid fuel pressure and spark (fires great with starting fluid). unable to pull any codes from the truck because its been out of commision for quite some time. Very baffled at this situation. decided to check the harness condition its self and follow the wires for the injectors themselves back to the splice in the harness, and everything looked fine. i cant find anything anywhere about this situation, everything i find is on the fuel pump itself. Seeing that these have issues with the ECU i was wondering if it was that, but i cant imagine how it would be if everything else is working properly. anyways, any input on this situation would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

You should connect a multi-meter to the injector plugs, crank the engine, and see if there is any signal/curret going to the injectors. If there is, then you know something is up with the injectors themselves. I don't even know if this is an orthodox procedure, it's just an idea.

gotta find my multi meter, but i checked it with a test light and got nothing. I tested the connection where the injector's plug in and there were 2 wires hot, but dont believe they led to the injectors themselves. its just very interesting

would the crank angle sensor cause no injector pulse, but still create great spark? and if so whats the best way to diag that its bad instead of replacing it because they are not cheap haha.

I'm not sure about that, but there has to be a way to check. Don't go spending your life savings on it now! I've spent hundreds of dollars on parts I though were wrong with something only to have it be something else, what a waste!

heh i hear yah, well i took out the multimeter and started going to town. i checked resistance in the crank angle sensor and it all seemed good, and it actually looks like the whole dist. was replaced at one point. then i decided to see what the voltage was at the injectors while the vehicle was cranking, and i was getting .0022 volts with just the ignition on, and it jumped to .2 while it was cranking. It seems as though its getting a very weak pulse, so i decided to check the resistance in the injector wires. I tested the wire that splices and goes to both injectors and where it plugs into the ECM, got .06 ohms of resistance which i believe is very low. i dont know if it could be bad ground and its just not enough to fire the injectors or what but im still baffled. i dont even know what else to look at haha.

Did you check the injectors themselves? I'm also not sure about how much voltage the injector drivers are supposed to put out.

not 100% how to test em so i didnt wanna fry them, but the fact that they both are not working leads me to believe that its not them. Where is this ECM ground everyone is talking about? appearently its a common problem, and i have no clue where it is. a poor ground would explain why i get such low voltage to the injectors, but dont know what grounds affect them.

I'm having the exact same problem except my computer is coming up with code 21 ignition signal. And I tested the injectors and they are good. Did you ever find the ground and do it work??
