Getting ready to buy my new tokico blues. The boots are an extra $101.56 from Joe. Who's using the boots and anyone have comments on the use of them. I know if the shafts get dirty it can mess up the seals but how much of a difference will it really make on the life span of the shocks?

Seems like a lot of money for some sleeves to cover your shocks.

They also incorporate the bump stops.

Depends if you have any water or dust in your area, I guess.

I used my old ones. They weren't too bad. But new or old, use them because of the bump stops.

The difference can be tremendous, and Tokico will be very difficult to deal with if you try to get them to replace a failed one that has been killed by seals getting shredded. They are very upfront about this in the paperwork, and you pretty much can guarantee it won't get exchanged. Get new boots, or reuse the ones you have. If they'll let you return them, I'd recommend just ordering them to have on hand, in case the stockers are shot. That's what I did with my Miata, and I only needed one of them, so the other three went back. Finding out you need them with the car torn apart is really not ideal, especially if they are a mail order/special order from the dealer kind of item.

Joe is very good about returns.

Unless they were replaced in the last two years, you will need new ones for the next five or six years.

You don't want repeat labor.
