So my stock speakers and radio in my 240 are just about done. I'm looking for 4 new speakers. I'm trying to keep it under $150. I'm not into subs, I just want them to sound good and have decent bass. Any suggestions?

subs are not just for heavy bass, I have 1 10 in my car and tuned well it adds just the right amount of bass for any music. but anyway, you should make some adapter plates for the speakers in the doors b/c for some dumb reason all the speakers in the s13 are 4x6 and I have yet to hear any decent 4x6 so you are going to want an adapter plate to house a 6.5" in each door. friend and I did this in his s13 sounds WAYYY better I'd go with the infinity reference series I swear by it!

spend $100 on cheap components and spend 50 on an amp for them. best option. true story. and i suggest getting a small 10 with amp you can buy them on CS for like 100 w/ wires.

NO infinity sucks. trust me. much better out there for the money. and again you honestly don't want rear speakers. it messes up your sound stage. personally i'd keep the rears stock.

i'v used those before nice speakers. huge upgrade from stock.

maybe this amp? http://www.woofersetc.com/inde...=7416

the amp you should get is this one to power them correctly: http://www.woofersetc.com/inde...=6274 but it's out of your price range. $50 more.

then i would buy a 12'' sub in a sealed box and call it a day. you can do that for around 150 as well.

with those you'll have a MASSIVE improvement over stock.

good luck.

also check out craigslist for good deals or the car audio classified website.

Thanks for the post, but my rear speakers are fried and make crackling noises.

In the price range you're after, I second the request of NOT putting speakers in the rear. Like he said, it messes up your sound stage and thus are only useful if you have passengers sitting back there.

I do like most of Infinity's products, but not at normal price. Look for them on sale.

Pioneer had a 2way component set come out, TS-C1700R, that I heard and liked them. I've not heard their current line-up.

Focal, Seas, Morel (if you tame down the tweeters), all have great products, but cost too much.

for the time being would just having some aftermarket 4X6's in the front and no rears and a deck sound decent?
