He said it'll take a few hours but he should be able to get them looking like new again. I'm pretty stoked to not have to look at this any longer:
$125 per wheel. Two were pretty chewed up, one was moderate and one only had an 8" strip of rash. I called around to a few places and this was one of the more reasonable prices.austexm45 wrote:How much is he charging you?
Yeah, thankfully my issues were purely cosmetic. There are places that can fix bends and what not, very well. They're accurate within something crazy like 1/100 of an inch and roll true.TDot wrote:They look pretty good. I wish I thought about redoing my original Vossens before I threw them out, those were more dent than rash issues though.
Hmm, that's an interesting idea. I'll probably be OK, though - I haven't curbed wheels in years... this was all the previous owners fault. They look beautiful now! Do you run those?svard75 wrote:Great stuff. Now get your self some rim savers like this. https://www.flickr.com/photos/alloygator/
I've heard of Redline but I think these guys were called Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists. I think they're similar - AWRS looks like a national franchise so the product could differ from area to area. A reputable local tire/wheel shop told me about the guy I used, as did a buddy who does paintless dent removal, so I felt pretty comfortable using the guy here, in Atlanta.bicsintegra wrote: I think I used the same people is the name of the company redline? they had to weld my rim to stop the leaking no problems since that.
No I have seen them before. If it's the same colour as your wheel it looks seamless.combsatl wrote:Hmm, that's an interesting idea. I'll probably be OK, though - I haven't curbed wheels in years... this was all the previous owners fault. They look beautiful now! Do you run those?
Hey, it happens. I spent two weeks refinishing a set of RS4 wheels for an old Audi I had, had them perfect, then curbed the left front in a drive through. I didn't see the mini curb and my day was ruined.MOWellsinVA wrote:I have used the local franchise for Alloy Wheel Repair and they do a good job. Regrettably, I have had to do it more than once over the last 4 years due to stupidly curbing my wheels. But they set right up with their trailer in our parking lot and a couple of hours later that are done. For $125.00 a wheel it is well worth it.
