WHEW!After two weeks in the body shop, my Versa is finally ready for pickup tomorrow. The damages came out to be just over $3000. The guys used only Nissan original factory parts.Sorry couldn't get pictures for you guys. The body shop doesn't take them, and when I got there two days later, they had already taken all the damaged parts out.Apparently they had to re-do my anti-rust treatment on the fender since it was damaged and replaced. I was told that "it was done a hell lot better than the factory". Should I believe this? I certainly hope this does not cause any long-term rusting problems in the future since I live in NY. Snow and salt season is also coming right up.Looking at the insurance estimate, the front bumper isn't all that expensive ($213). The headlight cover actually costs more!!! ($260) The cost of the parts seems very reasonable, not like the thousands I had to pay for parts on my old BMW.Lucky me that I had my Versa towed to one of the best body shops around. I asked friends and they all had good things to say about these guys. My best friend actually worked for their sister shop during high school! And also, sorry for not participating in here much all last week. I was too busy getting married. Too bad my wife's first look at the Versa had to be in its damaged and stripped form. I saw the car I hit again. The owner cleaned up the damage area, and now it's clear that all it got was a small dent and a couple horizontal scratches... shows you how soft the Versa is compared to a Pontiac (the Pontiac was also new).

Congrads on getting hitched.

How you hit the car has just as much to do with amount of damage as what kind of car.

Also remember that for most purposes, it is GOOD that your car sustains a lot of damage. Remember, the more your car sustains, the less YOU sustain. Look at all the crash test footage the government keeps... those cars that buckled completely up front usually get better crash ratings. If you look more closely, the passenger compartments buckle very little if at all on cars with good crash ratings.
