Custom's held up Chip's shipment for about 2-3 weeks, nothing more than that. Feb 11th is pretty unresonable in anybody's book.

I'm pretty suprised you finally got it... no "free goodie bag" though heh guess they didn't like you enough to send some smelly old floormats and a BOV. Let us know what it looks like when you get it.

Feb 11th......thats my b-day....must anyways they musta been slackin because Heavy throttle had/ has no problem pumpin out mad motors with a 4-6 week lead time (vs. 4-6 MONTH lead time) I ordered my redtop in January and it came 5 weeks later......customs didn't hold it up all that much......although we have had some of hold up on Rays Engineering/Volk wheels here and there comin through customs........if we only lived in Japan......cheap Skyline's for everyone......

I would imagine a well established shop like heavy throttle has motors ordered in advance to meet demand. Flashoptions waits to send a motor here when its ordered. So they ship one at a time here i believe. Obviously they will take way longer.

If i had to wait since Feb.11 for my motor, it had better come with a free Malaysian.

ordered mine from JGYcustoms on a Monday, got it in the following monday.. 5 business days.. not bad.

I don't see the harm of shipping engines into the US from Japan. I think our nation's security is just trying to make up for what they didn't have prior to September 11th. It was their mess up with the whole incident, so they don't need to take it out on citizens.

First off it's more than likely coming from Malyasia not japan, second there is no way to know if it's an engine or a thermonuclear device in the box, so they have to open it and verify what's in there. It takes time to go through everything. I mean I could lable a 300lb crate of coke as and engine block and have customs just let it though I'd be driving a 911 turbo right now......

i met the guy through zilvia's forums..he works for a shop in canada called Japan Motor Import. The motor looks in pretty good shape..cranks like a champ..fixing timing tomorrow..then it should run..if it runs then i will go into detail on everything. The guy has seemed really cool about everything.

wow, thats ruff. the place where i bought my motor from(ca18) had a crap load of sr20dets and ca18s in stock. 1400 for complete ca swap 1800 for complete sr(red top), 2200 for black top, everything minus intercooler. that was also a year and half ago. my, how things change.
