Even when its done...trust me, it will never be done. You'll spend more time working on or messin around with your car then you will with your girlfriend. :D

Yeah, at first i was like "oh i'll just drop it in stock and do stuff to it later". one week and about 8 thousand dollars later my motor is stripped down to the block in my garage, and i probably wont have my car running till december/january, but it will be a track monster and is well worth the wait :devil

weak *** pistons and a poor flowing head (Not a problem if you only shooting for about 250 (turboed) rear wheel horsepower and both can be fixed but is not worth the trouble in my opinion). That and there is alot more aftermarket support for the SR20.

No I meant stock....

Well I guess it depends what you're trying to shoot for, I just hate having to look for someone who will smog your car for you every couple of years :)

If i were in california i would definatly do turbo KA (i dunno, would that even pass smog?) over SR. I have nothing against KA's by the way, im helping my freind turbo his in a year or so.

J-Spec, are you talking about the SOHC KA head? If so then it doesn't flow as well as the DE head...but the DE head is about even with an SR head in terms of flow. Oh, and as for having your motor torn down to the block in your garage and about 8k invested...I'm glad I'm not alone :D I can't wait to see what you do to yours!

Modified Mag tested the KA24DE head in their april issue and it flowed 240cfm in the stock form. I'm not sure how much the SR20 head flows.
