expect from 22-26k for anything less then 50k miles. are you paying for it or are your parents?

Last thing you should do right now is get a 350z. Insurance will be extremely expensive at your age, not to mention the fact that it has more power than you should have available to you for a first car.

In my honest opinion you should find something a little less powerful and sporty for a first car. If you are stuck on the Nissan RWD idea and still want to be kind of sporty go for a stock 240sx. More than enough power for a beginning driver (=safer, and still fun) and it is a decent base to learn on.

As a matter of fact one of my first cars was a 240sx. And I am glad that I didn't have a 350z starting out, because when all was said and done that 240sx had quite a few dents, dings, and overall tweaks to it that I would rather weren't in my Z lol.

Who likes 240's anyways? Those things suck! lol

I can see what other members are saying. You're insurance is going to be through the roof LOL.

Seriously though, you may want to grab a 240 still, and give yourself a few years. Trust me, even though I don't know you personally, you're young, and through you're posts your age shows. Not that your youth is a bad thing, but there is a certain amount of experience needed to appropriately handle a car like a Z. It doesn't matter what experience you have had in your life so far driving; it's not enough. Maturity is another aspect; I feel you on the working bit; I worked for my parents companies installing microwave dish networks on top of 8+ story buildings since I was 12...

Just really think about it, and be safe. It may be a fun car, but somethings are worth waiting for.

if i were you i wouldnt get a brand new one. its a waste of money IMO. especially for a 16 year old kid. i bought my 04 with 22k miles for 16700 from some old college professor that was moving back to australia. why not get something with like 10-15k miles and save a bunch of money?

btw im 16 turning 17 in aug. i paid 12k and owe my dad 5k. i will have the money paid off before my next birthday.

You know there is talk about them doing something further with the 350Z or possibly coming out with a 370Z in 2009, maybe wait another year, and if you don't want what comes out, buy a used, or left over 2008 350Z..... just my view on buying one new.... Unless mommy and daddy will buy you both then do w/e.

i would try to find an 07 or 08 thats used with a couple thousand miles on it and save about 5 grand and put that into the z.... or do what rmezz said and wait... after all infinity and nissan are linked and the new G37 has a 3.7L 330hp so im guessin the 370 will also have a 3.7L 330hp or more (lighter than G), maybe test drive the new G and see if u like it and if u like the way it performs ull like the z better b/c they are better performance car than the G.... hope that helps dude

The 350z is faster than the G. The G is more comfortable and from my experience, has a lower "rice" factor. Different strokes for different folks i guess.

holy moly, sorry if i offended you... geesh... by the way 17 is a little green for a 350z.... And if you are quick to mod it, maybe look into 06' or under.... more mods for the DE = more power, and if you have all the money saved up, you can buy more mods for the used car that costs you less (306 crank is not hard to reach with mods + you'll have more than 268 torque). i would be dead if i had this car at 17.... i got mine last year a month before i turned 22 and i'm barely mature enough at my age to have it.... Mine is an 04 with just a few engine mods adding up to about $1400 and i know i am smoking the 08'......

I'll probably come off as a jerk... but you're 16, about to turn 17 and have been saving up money (working even?) since you were 12? Sorry, but that just sounds a little odd to me. Plus, if you don't have enough money to make a substantial down-payment, then there is no way in hell you're going to be able to finance that unless you get 20-30% interest.

Anyways, I think it's a terrible idea to get a Z at that age... your money though. Just don't take care of it and be careful out there. :p

*edit* You're going to lose tq with the EvoTT exhaust unless your FI.

If you have that much cash saved up, buy a used 04 for like $18k and you'll have $8k-$10k to hook it up. $5000 = turbo.... Thats what i would look into honestly, or you could use the extra cash to buy another car to drive in the bad weather so you can keep the Z looking fresh all the time. good luck........

It may even be worth it to go with the 04.5 just so you can get a nice set of wheels and a decent exhaust.

Also, for wax, I recommend anything Meguiars. I use this wax and it gives you a superb shine after a single coat. Additional coats given been better shine and accent the color of your car. I've got an 04 Silverstone and after using a clay bar kit and doing a coat of the NXT I had people asking me if it was new. It's just that good.

I think you should deffinatly get it if you can without killing yourself over payments and all, which it sounds like you can. I got a brand new 2006 Silver Z when i was 17 a love it. Its great deffinatly an eye catcher and i still get people turning there heads as i drive by about every day. All you have to watch out for is all that power expecaly in wet conditions because it can get a little crazy but as long as you stay smart and dont try to show off alot you should be just fine, besides the car really does all the showing off for you and preformance is great. So i would deffinatly say get it, but if it was me i would get a 6 speed manuel........just a thought tho.

dude look at my first car. its a RWD Infiniti J30. 230 Hp, ok for first car. Ok, so it doesnt compete with the BMW's, Cadillacs, etc etc at my high school, but its good enough. New paint, rims, subs and im done. Im not complaining btw.
