I would say go to Autozone, and have the code cleared. The ECU should get everything in proper order within 100 or so miles.

Why are you so worried about hydro-lock? It's a short ram.

Here's what I'd like to bring to everybody's attention.

Let's say that the whole cone got drenched... One big splash for a fraction of a second.

Do you really think the engine is going to suffer from the 1-2 oz of water that will get pulled through the media?

I would venture to say that there was just as much water in the air in the form of humidity when it was raining and our VQs don't die when it rains.

Edit:I had to go searching for hydro lock horror stories and this is what I came across. It's a link to my thread in the general forum, follow that link, too. It's worth doing the load of laundry after you pee your pants laughing.

You will not hydrolock a short ram intake. Plain and simple. I live in Rain City, and we get at least 65-70 inches of rain annually. I NEVER even had a moist filter. If you could hydrolock your car with a SRI, you would do it with the stock airbox as well. Just keep that Maxima out of the rivers, and you should be just fine.

I have an Injen CAI, with the cone filter in plain view underneath the car. It's as low to the ground as the bottom of my bumper and I've never had any problems, I don't even have a hydroshield around the cone. Besides, you need a full 2 liters of water to be sucked into your engine at one time to risk hydrolock. And I don't think you'll come across 2 liters of water under your hood unless you're in flood waters up to your windows or you poor a 2 liter bottle of water directly into your throttle body!
