ok I just spent 2 hours trying to get the transmission into the pilot bushing!!!!!

I'm in the clutch, and using two jacks. Nothing I tried got my any closer! Anyone have pointers, that I can try tomorrow, when I don't feel like breaking something!

Did you replace the bushing? Are you sure you installed it far enough into the crank? The only pointer I have is to make sure the trans and engine are leveled together.

Yeah, it's in. I think the cheap plastic alignment tool did not align things up right. Going to have to wait till I get back in town to try again.

Oh right I forgot you said that in another post. I was just reading old posts on tt.net about issues like yours. Just seems to be based on what kit you get, but OEM ones should work flawlessly. Some people said the pilot bushing they got had a slightly different inside diameter which caused this issue, did you line up the old one and new one to see if they were identical? And yours was already 5 speed when you got it right? Someone noted that when doing a 5-speed conversion, the auto crank has an extra piece of metal that has to be taken out to get the pilot bushing all the way in
