I will be picking up a s13 240sx next week. Not sure what year, probably a 91 0r 92. My friend got me into the car. Just wondering what best suspension setup is when on a budget, really only have like $500 to spend. Thanks. Also where is the best place to purchase.

I will be driving it on the street and learning to drift, probably like 3 times a week.

The most effective suspension setup for what you "want" is and adjustable coilover/damper.

Godspeed can be had for 500, but quality isn't what your getting there.some cheap brands:megan, d2, godspeed, Isis, Tein BASIC, Stance BASIC, all of which can be had for under 1k.

a respectable coilover will cost you 1k+

now you can drift on a spring and strut setup.lowering springs and aftermarket Shocks will run you around $500-$600.

If you want to drift with the car and only have $500, then start driving on 4x4 status. You'll have lots of body roll and will have a harder time. Meanwhile, keep on saving. When you save up $1000-1200 then buy Power by Max, Stance, or Fortune Auto coilovers.

When you slap them on you will notice a huuuge difference and once you get used to them you will be more confident in entering and throwing it sideways

imo if you wan't to drift 3 times a week like you said its definitely not worth getting $500 coilovers. I was considering going with spring/struts when I was low on money but I am sooo glad I waited and saved until I could get some nice secondhand Tein Superdrifts.

I vote bushings, subframe and diff bushings, tie rods (inner and outer), belllos boots, and then save for parts as needed. Get it in tip top shape before upgrades.
