My power antenna just stopped working recently. Thankfully, it stuck in the up position. The motor still sounds like it's working fine. Anyway, I went to take a look at it yesterday and couldn't really get to it - at least, not where it connects to the motor. I removed the trunk carpeting on the side only to find metal body braces there and the antenna & motor behind them. I can't see what/where I need to see.

Any tips? :help

You have to take out the assy.. its like 3 bolts holding it onto the unibody, and the rod and motor assy come out in one piece... Take it out and clean out all the old belt, and put in a new mast....

The mast is not bent and the motor sounds like it's running fine.

I finally did this on Saturday. Piece of cake. $18 for a new mast shipped off eBay and 30 minutes to change it out. The hardest part was getting the antenna nut back on with a pair of needle-nose pliers.

FWIW - the cable was broken off inside the motor.
