Well, I should have it tomorrow or the next day. I Went into a Nissan Dealership looking at their used Chargers and Calibers. Man did the Caliber feel underpowered for the 2.0. It climbed a hill like a freaking snail, and the charger was too big for my wife's tastes. So we settled on a white 2010 Nissan Versa Sedan, trade in on my Cr-v, and without trade, it all came to $12,488 with the power package and the 1.8. I wanted the hatchback but the folding seat system was lame and felt too cheap. A fold flat would have been good, but eitehr way, the sedan was perfect.

I had that 02 Cr-v, and it was totally stripped and used as a auto-x car unprofessionally. It was fun, but due to having a baby on the way in january, I needed to get all "family" oriented. That doesn't mean it's going to look stock forever at all, I'll still do my usual mods like I do with every car.

I have been doing car audio installs for years, am a moderator at the Crvoc and know my way around a car, so hopefully I can gain and share knowledge. I have never had a Nissan before.

Edit: Oh yeah, the reason I get it tomorrow or later is because it was a brand new car and I noticed that a few of the plastic features weren't exactly held in and needed to be fixed. Also had some seat belt tensioner issues and made sure it was good to go before it ever hits my driveway.

Congrats on the purchase!

I do agree, the rear seats would be nicer if they folded flat, but other than that it's a great little car with tons of space. I had a Caliber as a rental recently in California. After being in the car for a few minutes I realized I hated it. I returned it by the end of that first day for something else. I didn't think it was underpowered, but everything in it was broken, a turn signal had burnt out, and the blind spots in that car are atrocious. I could not see a thing backing out of that car. I was happy to return it, and get something different.

Yeah, the Caliber also had those disappointing blindspots. I forgot about those. That and it was more expensive than the versa and only a 2008. I also drove a Chevy HHR and I felt like I was in a tank, you couldn't see anything out the windows at all. There was more door panel than glass. I liked the duck bill style hood on it from the 40's, but the Versa has a similar design on the hood, so it wasn't a loss.

Also, even if they were double folding seats, that would have been great, ever hatchback I've had had the ability to fold the seats down flat, then fold again against the front seats, so you had even more floor space, or they just folded flat.

The Fit has seats that fold in different ways (Magic seats). I always liked the look of the HHR, but never test drove it. Everyone in my family thought it was just plain ugly. So the Versa was the one I went with ... It's not my dream car, but I love it and made it into my own.
Hopefully you like your Versa. Be sure to post up some pictures of it when you get it.

I definitly will put up pictures. I like taking pictures of my cars. I was actually looking at the fit, and saw that the versa had a quicker 0-60 time. So I decided to say no to fit. Here's my midnight work car so you can get an idea of how stock I leave my stuff:

and this is the car I traded in:

No rear seat...

But front racing seats. Painted Viper GTS Blue, it was nice, but the no rear seat and too racey feeling was a no0go as a family car. So now hopefully tomorrow (if not the next day) I get to take pics of the versa.

Congrats! Can't wait to see pics.
Sedans are rare up here.
I see more GTiRs and Skylines than Versa sedans.
Sounds like you're a thorough shopper.
What else was on your car shopping list?
My short list included [all with manual transmission]:
07+ Altima
Maxima
06/07 Accord
Fusion/Mazda6
06+ Passat
Xtrail
Focus hatch or wagon 05+
05+g35
Versa had the best price and options for a two year old car.
New car prices are insane around here, so glad you did well with yours!
Welcome and enjoy!

It's an Auto because it will mainly be my wife's DD, amd the civic is a manual so she can't drive it.

As for my shopping list i had:

Dodge Charger
Dodge Caliber
Chevy HHR
Pontiac Vibe
Kia Rondo
Honda Fit
Jeep Liberty
Jeep Liberty Biodiesel
Dodge Avenger
(used) Nissan Versa Hatch
Mitsubishi Outlander
Mitsubishi Lancer

and I test drove them all in the last week. Ugh...

My sister in law has a Jeep Liberty. That thing is great for hauling stuff (they have a trailer) and awesome in the winter! We got stuck in a bad blizzard a couple winters ago at their home. I was lucky to get their when work closed early. My younger brother and I had to leave our cars at their house overnight, and the Jeep brought us home ... They definitely have fun with it in the winter (they have winter tires on it too).

I got my Versa new too ... I had never had a new car and really wanted a brand new one. I'm glad I got it new, I love it and know that I'm the only one who's driven it/taken care of it :D

Well I'm really not liking this. They keep telling me they fixed stuff, go there and it isn't really fixed. To give you an idea, on my test drive on the Versa the dome light fell out of the headliner and just hung there.

They got a used 1.8s in that is a hatch and it's blue, I may take a fancy to it befire this is over... Priced right at $9,288 but I can get it for lower no prob. They keep saying "its not gonna be perfect"

uhhhh... yes it is, for me at least, it's brand freaking new.

This dealer needs to remember who the Customer is!
I always include the non-perfect details in the sale contract so they will be made perfect, or No Sale! :tisk:
When you pick up the V and still outstanding details, ask us on the forum for repair hints, what's normal, etc.
Happy motoring!
