getting a shortin out sound

i have a 94 sentra, whenever i down shift or just let it tach down to 1500 rpm, it starts to click/short out in the dash, also the batt. light and brake light comes on. when above 1500 rpm it has no problems, below 1500 just the idiot lights- no clicking. i have no idea what to do.

what kind of condition is your battery in?? altenator??

Check out your alternator, Autozone will do a free (or at least really cheap) alternator test. If that checks out, look at the dash wiring.
