Alright, we all know that cars that wont pass emmissions can be sold under the stipulation they are for off road use only, now while I am not looking for pay 22k for a 10 year old skyline that is legal, I would rather consider getting a non legal 10 year old skyline for much less. For you people familiar with the market, how much should I expect to pay for a s13 or R32 skyline in Japan? or possibly and s14? I would think they would cost less there since there are many more on the market? And I am thinking crating and shipping will be $800-1000?

Crating and shipping $1000.00:rotflmao I highly doubt that. You realize that at the end of a year the car has to go back to Japan right?

You'd be better off with a gray market, pseudo illegal, start dating someone at the DMV to get your paper work thru.

Or don't you know someone in the AZ court system?

you can pick up a R32 starting from about 500 to about 2000 for a GTS-T. GTR's are going for about 3to4000 and up know days. You can pick up a s13(CA) for as low as 400(picked up a 180sx for that price with tein coilovers that needed overhaul and exhaust and 17" rims) or ps13(SR) for about a 1000 and up. By the way I paid 5000 for mine but I went to a dealer and got on thats only had one owner with super low miles and was bone stock. Depending on the trouble you go thru to get on of these back I would think its better off if you pick up a front clip for an S13 and if you want right hand drive, just have it converted.

It is true you can find some R32's S13's cheep but why go to all the trouble to take it to the states if it is junk? They are that cheap for a reason, rust holes, bad engines, two cars made into one and the list goes on and on. Its too late now but TMS had a nice GTS4 for like 3500.

no, no I did not realize it would be heading back to Japan at the end of the year. wow. America just got minus 10 points for this. And the whole point of the car for cheap was to just have it as a daily driver to begin with, a stock R32 GTR is going spank 99.9% of cars here in Tucson, and the right hand drive is just something I personally thought would be nice. OH WELL. THANKS FOR KILLING MY DREAM GUYS. no not really. But the whole buying a clip and converting, well, i would, but the cost for labour to get a shop to install it for me is going to cost more than the clip probably because nobody is going to give a teenage kid looking to make his car one of them new fangled jap rice cars RHD a decent price. And honestly, I would do it myself, but I have no backround with actually working on cars myself, so unless I pick up alot of knowledge between now and acquiring the money to hook up my s13/s14 it will prolly be standard as-s s-hit =\

yes. with 10k I could build a daily driver that runs 12s. 12s would make up for not having RHD. IF I had 10k I might consider it, but since I don't, I'm not even thinking about it.

why not get a welder and do the right hand drive conversion yourself? its alwasy alot more impressive when a quality car was done right in you own garage, im guessing a mig welder would be fine of welding in a firewall($300) and then a sawzall and grinder to take the original out($150). i dont know how much a front clip costs but with summer here its definetly a doable project. i think? then again i dont own a 240 :D to heavy for my taste.

how could you miake a 240 run 12s for 10k?

1500 for motorless chassis. 3500 for SR20DET front clip in extremely good condition (which you will need to have all parts for RHD) 3000 for miscellaneous parts and small upgrades (ic and clutch) 500 for silvia lights. 2500 for body work and paint.

That is 11,000 and I dont think i have included everything... That is good for 14s
