I'm looking for a new head unit, I don't have that much money so I'm looking for something cheaper, around $140 or less. I'm thinking of getting the Alpine CDM-9821 . I just don't want to listen to my stock unit anymore, since it's only casette/radio. My speakers are stock, might upgrade them later down the road. Don't think I'll be getting a subwoofer anytime soon.

I think I'm gonna get it from crutchfield.com , I believe it includes warranty, free shipping and a free wiring harness. I looked in a few places online, it was cheaper than $140 but that didn't include shipping costs or wiring harness. So adding those in it would put it over $140 and no warranty either, so I think I'm gonna stick with crutchfield.

What do you guys think of this head unit? Any better recommendations for the same price? Post your opinions

Thanks

Umms normally Crutchfield does their best to eat you alive on pricing...check out http://www.ikesound.com and http://www.thezeb.com, I've personally used Ikesound and they're very good and a lot faster than they said they were ;)

I'd look for a Pioneer, and make sure it says "plays MP3;s". Saying "plays audio CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs" doesn't mean the same thing. Of course if you're not looking for MP3 playback, it doesn't matter.

Also check out CBR Stereo, they usually have good pricing, not sure what their shipping policy is though.
