I'm brand new to the forum and am very interested in buying a 2003 G35 coupe with the premium package if I can find it. I've been hearing things about certain models or years that they have been having problems with their engine, specifically oil problems and something with Rev Up, which I'm not too sure what that is. Obviously I am a complete Noob with infiniti cars but I was hoping to get some good information from the right smart people. If there are any recommendations or specific models or years or certain things I should look into, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Time is yours..

Welcome to NICO!

Get the newest model you can afford.

IMO 05 and up you can't go wrong. They come with the Rev up engine. I owned an 05 and now an 07 and never experienced the infamous oil consumption problem.

03 was the first year...more chances of problems occuring IMO.

Don't be afraid to search the site for more info. Theres a BIG flashy button up at the top

+1 with G_whizz...

My 05 G has never burned a drop of oil, and I don't baby my car. The 03-04 have known issues with the stereo, so you may want to plan on replacing/repairing the head deck.

I had an 03. It was rock-solid mechanically, no oil consumption problems. It was the small things that drove me crazy. Windows( at least 6 times for adjustments and or replacement of motors and it leaked in a high pressure car wash), Seats(4 times including replacement of the entire seat assembly),Bose HU(replaced twice). I loved the car enought to get a G37 to replace the 03, but it was ia pain to be always heading for the dealership. Thank God my G37 has only been to the dealership once in 17 monts and that was for a recall. A great car but 03 had issues!
