Hi, i am new here. I just sold my 92 Tercel (really really slow) and started looking for a new ride i really like the 240SX and was wondering if someone could answer a couple of questions that I have.

First where i live I've seen a whole bunch of 89s that go for pretty cheap, from the reaserch that Ive done I understand that they are different than 91s is the engine the only difference? And which engine is better for aftermarket support? I know a lot of guys out there do swaps but chances are i'll stick to the stock engine and just build that as much as i can Also should I look for a 240 that has LSD or not worry about it? and how can i check that it actually does have it?

Any other tips would be highly apreciated thanks a lot for your help. I really can't wait to get a 240 thanx again.

91+ has the DOHC engine. Its a 15hp difference and in the long run is alot easier to upgrade. I have a 1990 and what a pain in the ***, only a one year difference yet the 91 would have been so much better. Finding one with an LSD should be difficult. The only way to really tell without getting underneath is jacking up the rear and spinning the tires. Oh well, other than factory options, I think the engine was the only major difference.....

you want something that is fast and parts are cheap, buy a muscle car like a mustang trans am or camaro. im sorry about the tercel my friend had one that we bought to make fun of people it had a huge spoiler big rims and two off center yellow stripes... yes it was ghetto yes it was slow ( sohc 4 speed standard ) the car topped out at 106 it did 111 before the spoiler. the worst part was people actually liked it. if you go to tercel.com they have it on the website. when they did that we sold the car.

ya the tercel was a peice but it held its own when it came to racing people. we put lowering springs on it and then put spring spacers on those it was such a stiff ride but it out handled my friends 944s

some tercels aren't that bad if it has a dohc motor they actually sell parts for it. if its not a 95 they make body stuff for it too its kinda funny we actually had to buy all universal parts for it.
