Hi All,

I'm about to order a 2012 G37 Coupe Journey with Prem + Nav packs, Auto Trans.

The only thing I have on my list that I can do right away is the R2C Dual Intakes. I don't want an exhaust right away, but what else should I get?

Thanks

What do you want out of the vehicle?

Well, if there are mods out there that make the car perform better and do not cost an arm and a leg, then I would def. want to have them. So if I can get some bolt ons that increase HP and/or make it run better, I'm all for it.

Thanks for responding.

From a bolt-on perspective you have intakes (I will have my R2C's installed once I receive couplers from them), intake manifolds, lightweight pulleys, headers (pain in the butt to install), High Flow cats or test pipes, cat backs or axle back exhausts, ECU tools (UpRev or used Cobb AccessPort for NA), and nitous. Then, you have boost which includes single turbo, twin turbo, supercharger. Digging deeper there are Valve body mods for the auto trannies (5AT at least...not sure about 7AT), different gear ratios, cams, etc.

I'd do the NAV by-pass ASAP! Functionality its much better than OEM because you can actually use the NAV while you're moving! I found it very frustrating to have to pull over to look for a destination...you can also search the HD for music.

Tint was my first mod...need that in the south.

The R2C was my next mod...a great intake for sure. If you do FI, you won't need this one.

Finally, I added an external subwoofer and amp for some added bass to the Bose system. I don't think they sell it anymore, but I used the Rockford Fosgate Overload 12 all-in-one system and it's fantastic!

Future mods include front and rear spoilers...but those might not happen. Need to save for the GT-R ;)

Do you have a link to a how-to for the Nav bypass?

I have the premium extended warranty (7 years, 100K miles) that I want to keep intact so it's bolt-ons only for me, but if you have about $3,500 for parts and tuning then I submit the following:
Stillen catback exhaust
and Gen 3 intake
Kinetix HFC's
Motordyne M370 intake manifold
UpRev tune

Good luck with whatever path you choose. These are great vehicles to play with.

I also have the extended warranty; and was highly advised by two Infiniti dealerships not to mess with cats (i.e. install HFC's) nor replace the intake manifold (I was also considering getting the Motordyne manifold). They stated the two mods were engine mods, and thus could most likely screw up any warranty issues.

comments?

Thanks

If they can prove the mods caused the problem then they are correct. They simply can't say "you have mods so your warranty is void".

My Infiniti dealership gives me no issues. In fact, Infiniti installed my HFC's.

i suppose it is possible. there is alot of discretion when it comes to warranty and dealers. it all depends on how they present it to INfiniti when they get the job approved.

the intake i referred to was not a manifold though. if you had any issues, you can easily remove the air intake and replace the stock on back on.
