G35 is more of a drivers car.. RWD/AWD if you get the 04 and newer...

I35 is good but it is a maxima in a fat suit also FWD

G'sall 03's are RWD

All 6MT's are RWD

All Coupes are RWD up until 2009 and now they have an awd option.

All sedans are available in RWD and AWD except the 6mt....

The '03 G is known to have some tire wear issues and TCS can cause the rear brakes to wear quicker than expected. Power is 280hp/270tq. Weight is around 3400lbs. Consume Guide rated the G sedan w/auto at 0-60 in 6.2 (seems fast).

'03 I35 is a pretty solid FWD sedan. Stock it will probably have torque-steer issues. Power is 255hp/246tq. Weight is around 3300lbs. Consumer Guide rated the I35 w/auto at 0-60 in 7.5 (seems slow).

Both come with the VQ35DE. The G has more aftermarket support.

Having pretty good knowledge of both, I'd steer clear of both.

The 03 G35 was the first year the car was out. Most of the issues weren't ironed out until 05. In 05, the interior was made to look better, the front brakes were increased in size to combat premature brake wear and dust, the Sedan received some much improved body changes, and I believe the head unit was also changed.

I35 was one of the first drive by wire vehicles I've driven and also one of the first that Infiniti put out IIRC. I had issues with how slow the throttle opened (this could be adaptive ECU learning). The car isn't much to look at and the interior makes me feel like I'm driving a domestic. I would personally go for an older I30 with the much more bullet proof VQ30DE (and better looking body) or a newer G35 (05+ for the coupe and sedan, 06+ for the AWD sedan).

A G35X would probably be your best bet for snow, but it takes a hit in both performance and fuel economy due to the additional drivetrain. A FWD is the next best option and some suspension tuning might do the trick to help avoid the torque steer. Very prevalent on my 96 I30. Not sure about the newer I's.

The VQ35DE in the I35 is bulletproof. Same motor I had in my 2k2 maxima and most Nissan/Infiniti products had up until the rev-ups, HR and VQ37's. The only shifting issue is a somewhat slow 1-2 shift, otherwise not much wrong with the 3sp auto. Looks are personal perception.

The I35 will be fine in the snow with proper tires, better with optional traction control. Factory Potenza RE92's were simply horrible at anything but dry conditions. I should know as I had it's sister car for 7 years and 158k miles.

I'm sure they are. Even my base 2002 Maxima had an auto headlight setting on the turn stalk.

like i said i did notice the g i looked at did not have an auto dimming rear view and it is stated as being an option at edmonds.com. it kinda confused me that an 03 infiniti didnt have an auto dim rearview, but it will really confuse me if it does not have auto lights... even my 99 intrigue had both! simple i know... but if its a higher end car im getting... it better have higher end options....

Not standard. My base model G has no auto headlights and no auto dimming mirror.

The G is sports first luxury second. Base model had quite a few things missing from it that irked me. My 96 I30 had the auto dimming mirror and my G doesn't.

the auto dimming mirror doesnt bother me seeing thats super easy to put one in but it has to have auto lights or its a no go for me off the rip. well see if it does soon! the one i looked at has the bose radio with sat., no heated seats, no navi, no mirror, so id assume NO LIGHTS! my question to nissan tho... HIDS... but not auto? come on!

I have a 2003 G Sedan - RWD

5 speed Auto w/ manumatic

I have auto-dimming rearview mirror

Auto setting for headlights (HID)

Navigation/BOSE Stereo/Sunroof/Reclining Rear seats

Heated side mirrors

Far superior to any I35 in every way.The front brakes are a little small and create brake dust and the head units have issues and the compression rod bushings can get squeaky. Aside from that there are very few issues with the 2003. There were not a lot of "issues" that were ironed out. Just the few I mentioned.

I have 150090 miles on my car right now - lots of mods, stock internals and stock transmission. Everything is running super strong.
