Ok, i've read some of the past threads about clutches. And i went to enjukuracing.com and was lookin at their lists. Well imma put it in myself, and of course want the best deal for my money. Would it be better to spend about $300 on the ATC street clutch kit ($300). Or for the Spec stage 4 clutch kit for ($309). I own a 93 liftback, w/ KA24De w/ almost no mods. So what's your suggestion. If your have experience w/ either of the clutches let me know which u like, and what u like and don't like.

Thanks.

It all depends on what you want from your car. If you get an extreme clutch, you are going to sacrifice streetability in some cases (the clutch pedal will be harder to push down and your car will be a pain in the *** to drive, unless you enjoy a good leg workout- some people do). Another thing to think about is the fact that you said you have no mods. I dont know much about clutches but i would think that too strong of a clutch would choke out the motor on launches, making if very hard to start in first gear. I could be wrong, so the powers that be, feel free to correct me on this one as always. Im in the same situation as you (90 fb, almost no mods, need new clutch) Ill probably go for something with about 50-70% over stock holding power.

I don't think it would need any more torque for launches in first...but i just think it can Support more torque.

But then again i've never done this and am in no way an expert w/clutches or anything else that has to do w/cars im just a learner for now.

It depends how much you want to do with your engine. Are you going to build it, or just use bolt-ons? Do you want to swap it in the future? ect. I have a Centerforce Stage 1 clutch. Its supposed to hold a little more power than stock, and it was 160 with a pressure plate on http://www.nopi.com . I'm pleased with this clutch. On my old car (85 300zx turbo), I had a Clutchmasters Stage 3 clutch. If you wanna spend some money on a clutch, get this one. It grabbed really nice, and was just as streetable as a stock clutch, and its supposed to hold like 100% more horsepower or something like that. I loved that clutch. My friends personal experiences have been bad with ACT, but there are also people that swear by them. So all in all, if you want cheap get a Centerforce, it works great and I've had no problems. If you want a more serious clutch, get a Clutchmasters, but thats just my opinion.

I put a Clutchmasters Stage I on my S14. For $275 it was a great investment. Grabs great, holds 30-40% over stock I think. I would have gotten a higher stage clutch but I am replacing the engine next summer so I just got that one. If you are really gonna build the KA that's in there, I would get a higher staged clutch to begin with. Also, if you are keeping the engine, you might as well do a flywheel while you are in there.

I checked out the Nopi clutches, and that's a great deal. $150 is a lot cheaper than i thought i was gonna have to spend. Does the kit come w/instructions?

Do you mean instructions for installation? None of the clutches I've ever bought came with instructions. If you don't know how to do it, then maybe you should let a mechanic do it, cause you have to drop the whole transmission out. Its not technically hard, but it can be a real b**** to do, especially if you don't have all the tools you need.

I posted the same subject only got 1 response...I think I might get a SPEC stage 2 clutch can hold 300 Ft/lb it's kevlar and $285 from Enjuku racing. Price is a concern so if anyone has a better suggestion for the same/better quality clutch let me know. Or if you have the SPEC clutch let me know how it is.
