Getrag 6spd transmission...?

I've been a NICO member for a long time, and I still dont understand why you cant put in a getrag 6spd transmission. I understand it's an AWD transmission and all, but it's controlled by ATTESA-ETS

ATTESA-ETSThis means that normally, the car will be 100% RWD (hence the power losses through the drive train and associated rolling assemblies and tyre scrub driving the fronts is removed) and actually put more of its power to the ground. so shouldn't there be a way to fool the computer to run 100% RWD all the time? I thought that the getrag 6spd transmission was just too big all something. Also, I understand that RB26s also came with 5spd trannies. What about those?

I've tried the "SEARCH" button, but no one really cared to explain it in detail. Please refrain using smarty-a$$ comments. Thx.

the transmission/transfer is huge! It will not fit under the floorpan of a 240. If you want a nasty-strong transmission just get an RB25DET box.

By end of this year or beginning of next year, I should be able to save around $13 ~ 14K. I really want to go with RB26, but I dont want to buy a separate RB25DET transmission...That's the thing! Even the RB26's 5spd won't fit?

you are not listening to me, it is a transmission with a transfer case as one huge unit. It is almsot 4 feet long and weighs a ton. Look underneath a 4X4 Toyota Fourrunner at the transmission and transfer set under there, that is roughly equivalent to what is in a GT-R.

Some people want it for the 6 gears, but frankly i don't see how its worth it with all that extra weight. Not to mention the amount of custom work to make it fit. I've heard of someone doing this but i've yet to see and pics...the Rb25 transmission is more than capible of huge amounts of power and some shops sell the Rb26 with the Rb25 transmission...
