What good racing seats that are good for daily driving/drifting/autocross

And what do you recommend? Specify brand and model name

I prefer something that's reclinable, so that i can turn it into a bed if i can't find a motel.:pface for those you know what opportunities

bride if you're small like 5' and what not. I'm about 5'5" and although the butt was snug, my shoulders didn't fit the upper section. I do though, have a 46" chest so that could explain it.recaro or corbeau if you're bigger. The Recaro SRD's are the seats I've tried out with pretty good comfort. Pricey though. Corbeau's are a bit stiff on the seat and that's my only complaint. Haven't tried sparco though.

For the money so far, the best seat I have found is the Nex Racing Non-Reclinable Race Seats. They come in four colors and are extremely comforable.

Both McKinney Motorsports and my shop Underground Motorsports, run these seats in our demo cars.

They are less than $199 a seat so you can't beat it.

Take care!

uhm these sparco seats this is the "Speed" seat

MSRP is 269. I went to Autobacs in Orange county and wow, it felt fantabulous. it holds you in at the right palce. the shoulder and thigh supports are super supportive. and the thigh part (under your thighs) is comfortable. for the money and name, i'd say sparco

what type of seats are large people cramming themselves into. 34-36 in waists and 36+ in chests. (sounds like i'm getting a suit fitted). I know Brides are just out, not just because my fat @$$ can't fit in them, but too much money. I'm just wondering what the big guys are using.

ive got a corbeau forza and i like it alot. it is non adjustable but it doesnt bother me. i paid about 200 + 70 for the bracket. its a little bit of a ***** to get in and out of, but it holds you in great. plus you can also take out the seat cushion (held in by velco) to make yourself sit alot lower. if you are a bigger guy they have the forza 2. BTW im 5'9" 140lbs and the forza fits me great.

Welcome to the next level of race spec seating.

For the ultimate performance and comfort, NEX offers a new line of Racing Seats.

Molded from Fiberglass, Each seat weighs in an incredible 14.7 pounds.

I am 6 ft. 1 in and weigh 180 pounds, and these fit me snuggly. I would recommend them for all the bigger guys.

I will sell these seats to anyone who wants them for the lowest price guaranteed, $399/set! Shipping is $99 anywhere in the continental USA!

I WILL THROW IN THE UNIVERSAL MOUNTING BRACKETS FOR FREE!

Here's the pic.... Seats come in Blue, Yellow, Red, and Black. I would recommend Black as they look amazing and don't look ricey like APC, etc...

tell me about these "universal" brackets, how difficult is it to fit them, and how high is the seating position, lower than stock hopfully. I ask because the brackets on my friends sparco put it way higher than stock and my head touches the roof.

The ride height is definately lower than stock. I'd guess by more than an inch.

In terms of the brackets, you need to take the stock brackets off your 240SX seat. The 240 brackets are then welded or screwed onto the "Univeral bracket". Should take about an hour for each seat of labor.

P.S.- The cushions do come off as well as the headrest. That way if you want to change the fabric, you can have somebody reupholster them easily.

I LOVE THESE SEATS! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Thanks!

If you are seriously going to want a "racing seat" for your daily driver, get a Spearco Torino 2. There are fancier seats out there, but for $600, you get a severely comfortable seat. There are too many racing seats out there that are too true to race car form to be comfortable for months after months on the street.

The Torino folds, unlike many seats. So if you want access to the backseat, it is simple to get back there. All too many "racing" seats lock you out of your backseats.

Hmm....I was thinking of going with the Bride Brix (pricey, but they are nice), anyone sat in these? I've sat in the Torinos and they just don't fit my upper back/chest, but azz fits fine. Although those Nex seats look nice, I'd want something that reclines a little.

I tell you what, I'm gonna post a group buy on NICO, and I'll do them for $179/seat or $359/pair. This is absolutely the best price, GUARANTEED!

If you find a better deal on the internet, I will beat it.

Thanks!

I got the all black one. I like the feel of it, plus it was cheap as hell.

the brix are pretty comfortable (much more than the zeta lineup) but the thing about those is that they're still a bit narrow at the shoulder section and getting into the car would be hard because of the height of the parts that bolster your thighs. if you're having a hard time fitting into a sparco, you're going to have a hell of a time fitting into a bride.

Well I guess it's more of my upper rib area more than shoulders, so do you think it'll be the same there too? Also, the Brix get in the way of your legs with the steering wheel huh? That'll throw those seats out then. It's bad enough as it is, and I'd like to keep the stock steering wheel. I've always liked the feel of the Sparco Evo 2.

well, the fact that its reclinable :p

i guess they are ok for stunna duty, but no reclinable seat is fia certified, and therefore not scca legal, nasa legal, etc. for road race. + i have heard of the reclinable mechanisms breaking on people in crashes and the seats laying down flat. also people should know that you can recline a bucket seat to whatever position you need it to be for comfort, you just cant lay it down like a bed.
