I just bought a koyorad radiator for my s14 and think that the plastic cover where the stock intercooler piping sits on looks s***ty so can i take it of without toutching the fan area or will the engine be to hot then?!?

that because when i schould install fans ( insted of the small AC fan) i dont want a turn off/on swith but it schould work as OEM is that possible or schould i get an aftermarket controller

Btw dont write that i schould get an altima or what ever because i live in denmark, and here there is no altima etc...

uhh the shroud helps keep the engine cool. installing an electric fan would be a good idea. dont use an altima fan just go buy a proper fan. if you can afford a koyo rad you can afford a fan for it. best option would be to buy an aftermarket controller (they are cheap anyway) and you're set.

if you are still using the stock clutch fan, leave the shroud in place. If you remove it the fan wont be able to pull as much air through the radiator and will lose cooling ability / effiency

that's all the shroud is for is to help channel the air getting pulled by the fan. if the shroud wasn't there, it could effectively pull air through, it would just stir it up more. you can get any fans off ebay or something, and zip tie them to the rad.

Was thinking of getting 2x12" fans, but how do i connect them?!? schould i have an switch in the car to turn them on and off or can i connect them like when the car starts the fans starte to...

and btw it isent to make trouble when i take the small fan ( ac fan) of the koyorad and replace them with the 2x12"?!?

I have a writeup in the tech pages. Don't just wire them up to come on as soon as the key turns on. That's a really ghetto way of doing it, and it can cause other problems. For instance it will take longer to warm up, and your engine wears most severely when it's warming up. Also, it makes it hard to work on it, etc.

For the AC fan, dont worry about getting rid of it. Just make sure that the new fan comes on when the AC does. What I would do is get a fan controller kit that has a coolant probe. The way that works is you wire up a relay, and a probe will go in your cooling system somewhere (you pick where). Then once the coolant gets up to temp, it grounds the relay and the fan turns on. So all you need to do to make the fan turn on with the AC is wire your new fan relay to the old AC fan relay signal wire so that it will get grounded when the stock relay would get grounded.

^ Good advice. Leave the shroud on until you buy electric fans. If you are on a budget you can get some from advance for a decent price.. Advance auto doesn't always have the best quality of stuff but I had two ten inch fans on my old convertible 240 and never had a problem with them.
