And no, no tickets. Just a 17 year old guy with a v6 engine.

It says "turbo" in the name, so therefore no way will my insurance be anything I will want to pay lol

lol, considering the fact its a volvo.

the word "turbo" is for fuel efficiency reasons. . .I daily my S14, S14SR swapped car. Well, WAS. Seems as if everything I have touched has messed up in some way.

Like simmode said - there are plenty of RWD cars, just depends what you like. The reason I have stuck with 240's is because it was the first import I had driven, and i have enjoyed them (and just getting on NICO) ever since.

I have tinkered with the MKIII's before - the 7M engine (minus the headgasket problem) are flawless, in my opinion. But hell, spend that little bit on the ARP gasket and studs, and you are set. You can buy the N/A model and swap the turbo model in with no problem.

But come to think about it - I think, because the car was an 87, i don't think the fact it had "turbo" on the hatch lid made a difference on insurance. I actually remember his insurance being 85 bucks when he was 18. . .

Only reason i DIDN'T like the MKIII was they are boats. They float like Cadillacs, though.

Easily remedied by the aftermarket, of course. I'm fairly certain the Risky Devil MKII shown above doesn't float like a Caddy anymore... haha

If I were to get an N/A MKIII Supra, I'd swap in a 1JZ instead of the 7m... Newer technology, just as cheap...

lol, yea the s14 is one of my favorite affordable for me 2 doors that has potential. The guy with the fastest regular 6, not speed 6, has hit a wall trying to get over the 308 whp mark, and hes twin turbo'd. the v6 that me and him have comes with 220 from the factory, which is really like 200 or 190 whp. But dont get me wrong, i love the 6, its just time for it to go.

And the s14 can look so sick when done right.

But when I got my insurance by myself with only that car after recently losing my license, it was 110 a month. So its not that bad, I never drove the car when it had the ka in it so i don't know how that is but i don't personally like the ka. I know it gets pretty good mileage though. And if you ever swapped an sr into it, i get about 23mpg but I'm totally stock besides exhaust and fmic. I have had the car licensed for about 5 months but with problems and things breaking and stuff Ive probably only driven it for about a month and a half total... But i wasn't working on it that hard due to lack of money lol. I don't really see why a lot of the people on here would rather go for other cars but maybe because I'm young and haven't owned a lot of cars. I love my car and even with working on it and everything i would change a single thing i did. Its bumpy and makes weird noises that it probably shouldn't. But its never left me stranded. And its always been fun. I say do it. Its not terrible in snow. Ice wont let you move at all though. And rain is only fun if you're me. Just my .02 cents haha

110 a month isnt bad at all.

What do you pay now after losing your licence?
That is what i pay after losing my license lol. They are 20 year old cars. I told them that it was stock and broken and that i got it for $500. Which was all true when i very first bought it.. Haha

maybe, but i crushed a modded dohc hatch among other s13s. even na, the fc is lighter then the s13, has more power and higher redline. its not crazy fast but it out performs an s13. what year is your friends? cuz im talking s5 specifically

Well, Maxxdsix, I've had a s13 for three or four years. A common problem I've seen with the s13s are: the rack and pinion goes bad, high pressure powersteering hose leaks, trunk lid (with the stock spoiler) leaks which cause the turnsignals to fill up with water, the sunroof on a lot of them leak, the crankseal (rear and front) may need replacing at some point, starter solinod or two, and that's about it. I got mine with 100k and put 100k+ on it without much problems. The rack and pin, powersteering hose, were fine for a while. The crank seal went at 200k. And I went through two starters. Other than that, its been good to me. My parents were okay with my s13 for a while. Honeslty, they wanted me to have a minivan, but they didn't complain too much. I paid about 100-180 a month. I was 16 when I got the car and under my parent's plan. Then my dad got a speeding ticket and it went up to 200 a month.

If you're not caerful, s13's will put you in a ditch. But is really fun in the rain and dirt roads! Espically dirt roads!

I paid 2k for mine.

The KA24de's can take high mileage if you take care of them.

Just remember, as others have said, it is an old car. Things WILL break on them. Parts aren't too pricey, really. The crankseal is 5 buck. I paid 40 for a poweersteering hose from a junk yard. (they are 80-160 new though).

When my s13 got totaled, I looked at a lot of cars, even Hondas, and I ended up at another S13.

If you want one, get one. They are not to hard to work on, and look nice when you keep up with them. If you want an MR2, that's cool too. They have no back seat, though. In the S13 hatch, when you fold the backseat down you get a lot of room. For . . . "camping" :woot: with your significant other . . . I've "camped" :dblthumb: a lot in that car. That's the only reason I didn't get an MR2.

S4 and S5's... now that i think of it i think the N/A s5 would move on me, but my friends S4 i drove for like a week felt slower than my car by alot and i know my friends other S4 would lose but im pretty sure his apex seals are toasted because the car wont idle below 1000... lol

although my stock S14 ka in my base model coupe walked my friends b20 vtec swapped eg hatch.

that's why i got my 240 instead of an RX7... i love FC's but they have more niche problems than the 240... s5 motors with the 5th and 6th ports and all the electrical issues. fun cars though.

oh and I have 9 points on my license never suspend or revoked and no accidents and i pay $120/month in FL @ age 23 for basic insurance
