Hi,
Just bought a 2012 QX56. It played (and recorded) 2 CDs before the CD player squealed to a halt and stopped working. Apparently it got so hot, I had to let it cool down before I could even get the CD out.

And now, it won’t read or play any kind of disc, which is no big deal, but SURELY there’s another way to get music files onto Music Box??

Going by the Owner's Manual, the system only records from CD's. The info is found in Monitor, climate, audio, phone and voice recognition systems 4-69 thru 4-75 (Pages 264 ~ 270). It does allow you to update the recorded info (title, artist) by USB, but I see no other way to add music files to the system.
