Why couldn't someone go to a junk yard a slap a z turbo on a KA engine? You could fasion all the hardware out of PCV pipe, couldn't you? It wouldn't show but it would go. I was just wondering I really don't know if it would work or not, just throwing the idea in the air.

Erm, everything would melt. You need a different turbo manifold to fit the turbo onto the KA engine, you should probably do a search and realize just how many different ways that doesn't work. Also, you may wish to look up how turbochargers work, because its not nearly that simple. Please, please, please, don't do anything to your car until you've read and understand more. PVC pipe will not even come close to working...

i second that, running pvc pipe on a turbo would probably be one of the dumbest things you could do. the exhaust temps are very very high right out of the manifold, and you would have a big, big mess

Ok, ok I realize that was probably a dumb idea, but I this Idea came from a friend of mine. Obviously we're both pretty stupid.

Don't worry I ain't going to touch the engine until I know exactly what I'm doing.

Ahh, I've been looking for a good source of info for turbocharging my 240. Just ordered it off 1/2.com. Hope it's as good as you say.

I wonder if there's a Turbocharging for Complete Dumbasses Book. That's the one I really need.:icon18

heh, actually, you could make most of the piping out of PVC. none of the exhaust bits, mind you, or the intake lines right next to the turbo, but it has been done.

look up some junkyard turbo mustangs next time you're bored and you'll see what I mean. it's more suitable for the beat-to-crap 5.0s and dodge shadows that they usually use it on though. sad part is, for a grand total of $2000 or so (the whole car), these guys break into 10s.

cars are a lot like girlfriends. ugly speed is cheap and easy. reliable, good-looking speed is a different story.

also, don't think the PVC will last more than a week in a daily driver. it won't.
