Hey guys,
I've been a long time fan of the site and finally signed up after owning my 3rd Nissan (2 Altima's and an Infiniti). I have a 2010 Altima 2.5SL with the QR25DE, no less. It has 27,500 miles on it and I'm due for an oil change soon.

I've always used Mobil 1 EP 5W-30 but I have read many great things about the GC 0w-30, especially in the QR25 but not specific to my year model. All the posts have been about the pre-2007 QR25. I know my owners manual states API SM oil and the GC I see at Oreilly Auto shows only API SL. I know the differences but the Castrol site states that it exceeds API SM standards.

Cut to the chase, Can I use GC 0w-30 in my 2010 Altima 2.5? (I'm not concerned with warranty bs so don't bother mentioning that)

I'd like to use it after all of the many great things I've read about in including use in previous QR's but I want to make sure it's ok in my 2010.

Yes, you can use 0W-30 where 5W-30 oil is recommended. Both are 30 weight when hot. No problems.

What good did you specifically hear about the 0w-30 being used in the 4 cylinder Altima?

There's an interesting discussion on oil in this thread new-pennzoil-oil-t587103.html
