I was riding along last night minding my own business and singing "The wheels on the bus go round and round" to my 1 year old son. I wasn't looking for trouble; the night was lovely, the cabin of the Q smelt like Red Dot Hot Sauce and baby poop. All was well...life was good.
As I approach the intersection I notice a very large Chevy Malibu and think "That don't look half bad for a Malibu". But as I draw closer I recognize the Infiniti logo on the trunk. I pull up on side and from here the view of the 02 Q45 was a bit imposing if not intimidating. It sits higher than my Q so I had to look up and into the cabin.
I was gawking and drooling over the car when I noticed the driver was staring back at me. I couldn’t help but notice because his glasses greatly amplified the size of his eyes. He looked like George Burns. I now believe the saying that one's ears and nose never stop growing and might I add neither does the hair within those aforementioned cranial accessories.
Anyway…he was looking at me and I was looking at him…hypnotized by the swaying motion the climate control was inflicting upon his nose hairs and wondering where he had purchased that Andy Griffith gospel CD that he was blasting. I noticed his car was inching forward and I thought maybe his prosthetic foot was slipping off his ankle. It dawned on me that maybe the old limp noodle still had some swagger in him.
The light turned and the antique SOB laid in hard!! I was amazed by the power of that Q, he caught me off guard so catching up was futile. We were on a city street with stop lights every ¼ - ½ mile or so and I knew I had missed my chance plus I had my son with me. All I could do was watch as he zigged and zagged his way through traffic like Metamucil through his digestive tract. He had to be going atleast 100mph in a 45mph zone. The old man was hell, had no regard for the speed limit and was handling that Q like a champ. I wondered how many he had drawn into his web that night.
