Gentex Auto Dimming Mirror 50-GENK40 Installation

Newbie, first post...so be gentle. Just got the auto dimming mirror w/homelink functions for remote garage door opening etc....for my wife's new Versa '08 hatchback...I have researched the installation of it, and wonder if anyone has any real world experience in doing it? My main question/concern is the best way to run the wires with the least disassembly of things. And what are the best wires to hook it up to.

And while I'm here.....does anyone have a good working knowledge of the fuse box(s), ..a diagram maybe...for future reference. Thanks!

When I had my mirror installed, they ran the wires up into the headliner and covered the exposed three - four inches with braided mesh.Hope it helps a bit.I got this one: http://www.autoaccessconnect.com/ciaudiinrevi.html

Thanks, I have ordered the piece that covers the wires from the mirror to the headliner...my biggest question is running the wires down from the headliner,thru the A-pillar....there's a speaker in it....have the 6 speaker system...and where does the A-pillar end...by the fuse box? Basically before I go tearing things up and removing stuff, I want an idea of what is in the area I'll be working in. Plus, this may sound paranoid, but the last thing I want to do is mess with anything to do with airbags/activators....

I'm more than mechanically inclined...and have been in the electronics profession my whole life, so I'm no rookie, but I'm unfamiliar with this car...so if anyone can forward warnings/advice you will be keeping me from getting into the "deep darks" with my wife

I have the S model. Is there 12 volt power running up to where the mirror is located? On the SL there is power running up to the map lights. If so what's the best way to "peel" back the headliner so I can access the wires. Not having the map lights in the S is probably the biggest bummer over the SL model. Would do an after market rear view mirror or map light overhead type console.
