It provides a lot of the Infiniti's functionality / power with its Genesis GT model, redefining the idea of a RWD affordable sports car.

It's fun to drive, go take it for a spin

Hyundai normally gets their new models right on the second try. Mechanically the Genesis is a monster but aesthetically in my opinion it leaves something to be desired. I cant get out of me head that the front looks just like every small car Hyundai has made in the past 5 years.

Car & Driver had a comparison between that Genesis and the Camaro. It was a great article if anyone wants to check it out.

The article: http://www.caranddriver.com/re..._test

i'd much rather save up and buy a 370Z or a used G than buy one of these.

The genesis is being compared to cars like the 350z and falling short every time. In the genesis defense it is it's first year out, so it has lots of room to improve. I don't thinks it's one of the nicest new cars to come out but it does offer like what was said an affordable sports car. Personally I would rather go out and buy a used 350z. But I have always been a big fan of that car so I might be biased

Just look at that nasty-*ss engine bay... So unrefined (#36; the one without the snails and grounding kit) *shudder*. Even with an engine cover, it's still going to look like stuff's poking out. They'll have to do better than that to sway me from Japanese or German cars. The ultimate test to a car company's worth is really to see how much HP per L and the potential. I am biased but I will guess that the 3.8 is already topped off and it would be hard to extract more out of it. I, on the other hand, like how Hyundai tries to shave off as much "shell" as possible to make it more compact. I think the 370Z is fat compared to this. I hate Randy Rodriguez... Or whoever butchered his design...

18+ with a valid license.

As lame as it sounds, it helps to bring a parent along if you're going to test drive a car at that age. I had to do just that a few months ago when I was looking for a new car since the salespeople at some dealerships wouldn't even give me the time of day given my age and sparse credit history.

Here's a big "screw you" to the Scion dealers in my area, you lost out on an all-cash sale.

I'm already tired of hearing about the Genesis. I'm not impressed at all with the styling (looks like an average Hyundai from the front), and performance-wise it doesn't stand up to a 350z (and don't even try to compare it to a 370z). I'll give them credit for an attempt, but I'd never buy that car, partly because it's a Hyundai, and partly because there are much better cars out there for the same price (used 350z, G, etc).

With the same amount of money for the new A/C, I can buy a BMW E46 M3. With $25k, I can buy a '95 BMW M5. With $17K, I can buy a '98 Supra. Get my drift?

Used car vs New car = FAIL

Where I'm from, new car > used car.

Going back to the Gen Coupe, your comparing a 2 seater with a 2 + 2 seater.

A more fair comparison would be the G35 vs the Gen Coupe. Both 2 + 2, both V6, both RWD, both 6 speed, both LSD, both brembos.

Of course, that is a viable comparison.

As for the ones who compare it and say it's not up to par, price wise, to used 350z ...

I used to think the same thing until I saw one in person at the Carlisle Nico Fest this past weekend. I gotta tell ya it looked very nice in person Way different than in pictures.

This car of course was not stock at all and definitely had coilovers and Bride interior etc. IMO I would have blacked out the tails to continue the theme but overall it was a sweet looking coupe.

In those pics though, that rear window just looks jacked up...it really fails the lines of the car.

Love it or Hate it - the rear windows are a part of the signature or character line that Hyundai is trying to do. Look at Most of the Nissan cars including the infinitis and you will see that Nissan has used a common window signature in terms of the general shape of the windows expecially the rear side ones.

You can see Hyundai did something unique here - and it may also improve back seat visibility to lessen the cramped rear seat couple feel.
