why would you want a hyundai anyways. I test drove the 3.8 genesis coupe a couple days ago and it felt slowwwwwwwwwwwww. I'd rather get a g37 with a much nicer interior.
And yes, genesis coupe guys are very full of themselves.

Now you guys are ragging on them *rolls eyes*.

My friend Markus drives a 2.0T GC. It's pretty quick. There is TONS of aftermarket support for that car. I haven't heard anything bad about it. He beats the piss out of it and has had it for almost a year now without a single issue.

If you were looking at getting one I would suggest getting the LSD for sure. The 2.0T can peel the tires pretty easily.

not surprising. the gen coupe guys in my area feel the need to rev at me whenever they pull up next to me. it's too bad the genesis coupe looks like s*** though.
btw you might want to resize your sig to 600x200

i never said i completely hated it. i would absolutely love to have the 3.8 turbo. but the fact that the exterior of the car looks like utter crap is a major turnoff to me.

My buddy has the 2.0T and i have to admit i was completely surprised when i first test drove it. I have to say it does not hold a candle to my AC 3.5 but none the less it is still very nice. It has way less head room than the AC and way less back seat room as well. Huge plus....stock short throw shifter. Huge minus....shift knob is weighs like 1 gram (easily changeable). Also a RWD vehicle. My buddy was stuck inside this winter as his car was buried in his driveway even in an inch of snow. Being a lil turbo 4 banger, there are tonsssss of room to work with in the engine bay. The car even comes with an adjustable waste gate. I did this mod on my buddy's car because he has no experience working with cars what so ever, but this was the easiest/most effective mod i have performed on a vehicle and it was completely free. Just my two cents....i wouldn't mind driving the v6 but definitely more impressed with my AC overall.

performance wise I like the genesis (mainly RWD since AC isn't); however the inside feels like a cheap watch which is a huge deal breaker

oh yeah, and the car is ugly

I agree it does feel cheap inside....but i have to admit I had planned on it being cheap so it wasn't a surprise to me. Does not have that luxury sport feel.

No internet battles needed - they're enthusiasts just like we are. We're biased toward our cars, they're biased toward theirs. No arguing over the net is going to change that.

I think Hyundai has done a superb job with the Genesis. But the Altima Coupe is not in the same class as the Genesis - the Z and G are. Easy to pick on the little guy when you know you're outclassed against someone your own size ;)

against a 3.8T, i'm fairly certain an 3.5 a/c would lose. That extra little bit of displacement, turbo and RWD just might be the deciding factor.
a 3.5 a/c against a 2.0T genesis coupe might be a different story though.

yea i thought the interior was cheeplooking as well.the back seat was small to.also i dont believe that the 3.8 comes with a turbo. 0-60 times...from websites like edmonds, motor trends etc...
Altima 3.5 0-60 - 5.5sec
Gen coupe 3.8 0-60 - 5.8sec

I love the seats in the Genesis Coupe, and over all it's not a bad looking car. I don't really care for how the quarter windows scoop down below the door windows, but its just my preference. Now I absolutely hate all the excess black plastic around the fog lights on them, that makes it look like a cheap car to me.

hmm, guess i was mistaken on the 3.8L being a turbo. Regardless, I'm not sure where you got your 0-60 numbers though, motortrend pegged the genesis coupe at 5.5 seconds and the altima coupe 3.5 between 6.4-6.5 seconds

I have seen numbers for the Altima 0-60 range between 5.5 and 6.7s depending on which site and who did the test. Way too many factors for a zero to sixty test incl temperature, driver, etc. Also - running a CVT vs. Manual is going to be much different. From a dig, a manual AC will roast a CVT (yes, this is from experience) - the CVT simply doesn't get the power to the ground early on. I've seen this with test vehicles - the lowest number I saw for a 0-60 in an AC was on Michael Karesh's car review site (can't remember the link offhand but I'll find it). He had a 2010 6MT AC and reported a 5.5s 0-60 time.

Worst I saw was Edmunds' test. I believe that was the 6.5-6.7s number. I believe they were running a CVT V6.

Kind of embarrassing for the 3.5 cvt to only get mid-high 6's for 0-60. I have gotten 7 sec 0-60 in my 2.5MT. I understand the cvt isn't made for performance, instead gas mileage respectively, so it makes sense it would do worse than a manual..but a second difference seems like a lot between the 3.5 manual and cvt.

The 3.5 motor weighs more as well and most V6 coupes are equipped with extra things.
