1. When using a Tuned ECU for fuel management, can you run an open BOV or should you recirculate.

2. Will the ECU compensate for different boost pressures or is their an Ideal boost level for each tuned ECU.

(for example) I'm going to be using the boost designs (enthalpy 550) tune and a dual stage boost controller.

If I want to run two separate boost levels, one for daily everday driving and one for "special" situations. Will the ECU automatically compensate for the two separate boost levels or should I just run an ideal boost level, whatever that may be?

thanks

If you want it to run reliably, recirculate your BOV.

The ECU has no idea how much boost you are running the only thing it knows is how much air is entering your engine based on the MAF voltage reading, and the load its under based on the Thottle Position Sensor. It all depends on how much different the levels of boost are that you want to run and your tune. The ECU can compensate to a certain point, but if you want radilcally different levels of boost ie 10psi for daily, and 20+ for racing, its best to go with a standalone that can refrerence boost from a MAP sensor.

To add to the post above...

Besides using a MAP on a standalone, you can also use a laptop to load different perameters, depending on the driving situation. Basically, one program for street, one for race. Or ten for race, depending on the type of racing.
