Whats up everyone?! Ok, just have some general questions for you all..First off, does any one know if Brembo has a touch up paint to match the gold on their calipers? The damn moron that owned the car before must have done the brake pads himself/herself because they are marks all over them near the pins.

What are some good springs with a decent drop for our cars? I'm going to use the stock struts because i dont want it to be super low, just something to give it a nice stance, and I figured the stock suspension could handle that. If not, please correct me. Any opinions/comments?

Does anyones radio not work right when you first start the car up? Until my car has been running for at least 30 minutes, the radio will not play any CD's without them skipping. This just started, and its working my last nerve.

And last, does anyone know anything about the price for the 3M clear bra for these cars??

A lot of people have CD issues. If your still under warranty, got to the dealer.

Mine is an '04 with 50k miles, and although I have heard that some are having troubles with the CD player, I haven't had any as yet. Hope I didn't just jinx myself!

Regarding the clear bras, I wish I had included that when I bought the car, regardless of the price. The front end of these cars are NOTORIOUS for chipping!

Well no need to address the Brembo question. I contacted Brembo and they dont have paint to touch up the calipers. They said to just take it to a body shop.

I know, the chipping on these cars suck..Oh well though, what can ya do.

Try these guys out for your CD player. The OEM 03-04 head decks are known for issues.

The G35 uses shocks, not struts. Nonetheless, neither will affect rideheight unless they are designed with a lower perch than the stock shock or have an adjustable perch. Most non-adjustable ride-height shocks/struts will have the spring perch in the same location as the OE shocks.

That said, going to a lower spring will likely mean it will have a higher spring rate. Which generally requires a higher damping rate shock. Too much of a mismatch can cause poor handling, unsafe conditions, and/or accelerated wear on the shocks.

Agreed ^^^

The clear bra should cost you around $200, possibly a little less if they are having a sale.

I'm not sure about the installed price.

Hey HBG35! Why not just paint your calipers. Just tape them up and buy some high temp paint and primer. I've even seen gold anodized paint. Here are some pics of my painted calipers. Costed less than $15.00.

Damn you guys don't read!

Bremo paint isn't an option. So now he's going to have to go to a body shop and get charged a couple hundred plus have his car out of action for a couple of days when he could just clean, sand, and paint them himself.

I'm letting the Brembos the way they are. Its not all that bad, i just get annoyed at chips. And the reason I was thinking about the body shop is because the cars going in in 2 weeks any way, so I figure while its in there, if he can match the paint, why not. Know what I mean?

As far as the springs and shocks set up, whats a good combo? I saw thse for $850

Tein Basic Coil-Over Setup fits both the coupe and sedan. Tein Basic Damper is for the driver that is seeking high performance with a reasonable price. The basic damper includes 4 springs and 4 shocks/struts. Compared to the "sleeve type" coil over, the basic damper has a more exclusive set up for a better balance of suspension travel and damping force.Coupe spec:Ride height drop: -1.5"FR -0.9" RR. Spring Rate: 503lbs/in FR (9.0 kgf/mm) 503lbs/in RR (9.0kgf/mm). Ride height adjustable range: -0.7 to -2.6 FR and 0.2 to -1.2 RR. Uses OEM Upper Mounts

Just have to check the bank and see what fits the budget.

I had to have my CD changer replaced. But I'm still under warranty so it didn't cost me anything. Its a big problem with the BOSE cd changers.

Thanks for the compliment! They came with the car. They are either stock or an infiniti aftermarket upgrade. I've only found like 3 other cars out of hundreds that I looked through that had them.It even came with a full size chrome spare.

those are 17's and his are the 19's. 19's were in the sport package upgrade.

as for the 3M clear bra, you are likely to spend between 400-600 for total cost. Just depends on the person installing.

As for the suspension, what I have done, and a lot of other G owners is put a stock 350Z suspension. It is stiffer and will actually drop the car some too. I think I noticed about .5 - .75" drop overall.

Your best bet if you go the 350Z route is to get a 2004.5 or newer setup with as little miles as possible...under 10K-15K miles. Newer years have a revised setup that is said to be much better.

Welcome to Nico, start reading and you'll find plenty of upgrades for your car.

Intake, exhaust, grounding wires, plenum/plenum spacer. I would work on fixing your ride before you make if faster and F#$% it up more.

Oh and also, learn how to drive. I live in SoCal. They don't believe in covered drainage so we have TONS of dips out here. You've got to learn how to take them at angles or what roads to avoid.

good find - must have been a dealer option if they were supplied as a full set of 5 wheels!
