Good morning all. First I would like to apologize if this is in the wrong section, (fourm admins please feel free to move to correct section).

Real quick I have a question on headlight bulbs. I have a 2013 Altima Coupe. According to the manual and the dealer the bulb type is H11. I would like to replace the crappy factory bulbs with brighter ones, my question is, what is the easiest way to tell the bulb type I.E. HID, Halogen, ext without taking out the bulb??? or is there a way??? when looking at the front of the car the dim headlights look like the projector style, I could be wrong on that, sorry no pics to show. it has factory headlights, im just wanting to replace the bulbs for something brighter at night

thanks
mark

An H11 bulb is not an HID type bulb. I would recommend you try the H11 version of the Sylvania Silverstars.

Pass on the Silverstars, I'd rather stick a turd in headlight socket than those bulbs in.

H9 bulbs is what you want.

File that top tab down and install em.

You'll be better off with the H9s. HIDs won't work well in halogen projectors, the focal point isn't the same.

I have LED's in my Mazdaspeed Protégé and I'm very happy with them. The stock headlights are INFAMOUSLY crappy and the LED's were a HUGE improvement over any halogen and weren't a pain to install. I used Plasmaglow.

I was really curious how they were gonna make those rear doors work. I'm impressed with it. I am NOT an SUV fan, and I'll never own another one (I had a early 90's Jeep Cherokee for a while and I loved it, but that's nothing like today's SUV's), but if I HAD to pick one, this would be my only choice. Good job Tesla!

I recommend getting bulbs from http://www.powerbulbs.com, they have great prices. They are based in the UK but ship to the states within a week. The European version of Sylvania bulbs (known as OSRAM in Europe) are made to a higher standard and last longer than the junk Silverstars in Autozone. I'm a big fan of the Osram Nightbreakers and have used them in all my cars and in fog lamps too (I live near some rural areas and I wear glasses so night vision is paramount to me). They also carry Philips Xtreme Visions/etc and they give you a free pair of 194 bulbs with every purchase. I just got some Osram Xenarc HID bulbs for the 350z from them, just haven't had the time to be taking off my front wheels to install the bulbs. :frown:

Wow. Finally someone who knows what they're talking about when it comes to lighting in this forum.

Osram and Philips make excellent bulbs. I've used Osram's Rallye 85/80 H4's and they performed a lot better than my current Hella 100/90 H4's
