I've been considering some 17" '04 Spec V wheels for my S13. I'm thinking that they're gonna look funky (sunken) since the offset is so high.

I'm not overly enchanted with the idea of running spacers (even reasonably good ones like the bolt-on H&R ones) either, but I'd like to be able to clear coilovers in the future.

I'm also not sure if the added weight of the 17" wheel is worth it for me. I certainly can't afford a strong, lightweight 17" wheel, so that's out of the question.

Anyway, opinions...is the '04 Spec V wheel a bad option for an S13? Would I be better off finding a 16" 4-bolt pattern wheel that's non-OE?

This is going to be a daily driver and my wheel budget isn't enormous, so durability and price will be higher on my list than weight. In a perfect world I'd want cheap, light and strong, but I'm not that deluded. ;)

Recently one of my fellow moderators had mentioned a Kosei in 4 lug, 16x7.5 +22 for about $100ea

That's awesome...I love those wheels. I always thought they were more than that since Tirerack had to drill 'em for 4 lug.

I know they're light, but are they fairly durable? I've got some rough roads here in the city where I live.

Would a +22 offset with a 7.5" wheel look fairly flush on an S13?

Yeah I also looked on the site and couldn't find em. Call Grant. This is something I'll also have to do Monday morning.
