I think I read somewhere that the general rule of mixing coolant is 50% water and 50% coolant

why not 100% water or 100% coolant? and if redline water wetter promotes better cooling, why not 100% water wetter?

and what is the best coolant out there?

it depends on the tempersure of were you live in , in the back of the antifreeze bottle, there should have like a chart of mixing and the temp of what you should have

I live in south cal, the coldest it ever get is baout 50F

I just watched the video... since it's so warm here even in winter, does that mean I can use water + water wetter only? is it recommended? would corrosion/rust be an issue with no coolant mix?

water's boiling point vs anti-freeze is the main difference why we mix it.

50/50 is typically what most people run. make sure you use distilled water too or you'll corrode your radiator in the long run.

with a copper core radiator id even use distilled water to flush it. it costs quite to flush a bit but gotta treat the copper right haha. i dont really believe in water wetter id rather go and rent myself a jig saw at some local power tool rental shop and cut my bumper for more air flow or make my own hood scoop instead.

search the internet first about it.

water has better heat transfer and it can hold more thermal energy in it.

Why not use 100% water?? beucase it boils at 100 Celcius and it freezes at 0 C. Also corrosion takes place inside the engine.

So you mix it with coolant to increase it boiling point and lower its freezing temp; it also prevents corrosion. 50/50 is adequate for daily use.

for you, i'd use 30%coolant/ 70 water
