general 240sx stuff

I'm just wondering what the 240sx 89-93 is capable of from people who have one. I saw a picture of the interior of a 240sx and the speedometer read 180km/h as the max speed, is this true? And i was also wondering how much HP it has. And what's the reliability of one. But just so you know, anything you say will probably not convince me to NOT buy one, for I love 240's so much! THanks for whoever helps. Oh and can it beat a 1993 Mazda Mx-6 (v6)?

Well.....I dont have one yet, but from the information I gathered on this forum:89-90 240sx has 135hp91-93 240sx has 155hp

Dont know what 180km/h is in mph but the max speed about 112mph or close to that if i remember correctly. As for reliability, the 240 can last a very long time if it is well taken care of. As for it beating a Mazda mx-6....i dont know, but i have faith in the 240 so i am sure it could.

There is alot more than just the basic things i just said but i was only generally answering your questions. Dont worry though....Im sure that someone will post who is more experienced than me.

The speedometer only goes up to 112 (115 actually on US models), the car is capable of much more. many here have pegged their speedos. there is a speed limiter at 118 or so.

Bear in mind, a decade plus old car with undoubtedly worn out suspension isn't going to be very safe at high speeds, especially with econo tires. Just remember that during your high school rice antics. We all did it. :pface

Thats why i said 112 or close to that because i think there was a difference of top speeds when its a manual or auto. It is capable of much more than that, but without some modifications to suspension and such then you asking for trouble going that fast. Dont know if i would call it high school rice antics but my car was meant to be driven and so it shall. (I just drive it a little faster than others )

speedo goes up to 115, the govenor kicks in at about 127.... can stock could prolly hit 140ish easy with no limit.... i had a friend go besides me when i topped my car

240sx' speed limiter is 118mph. I've bounced off it a few times with my old S-13 at the track. Not a fun thing when it happens especially when someone is behind you....
