I'm getting really sick of developers and the media pimping games so long before they're due to be released. Spring 2011? THEN I DON'T CARE YET. Why is this even a big deal at all? It's a freaking year away. But every gaming website is pushing GOW3 screenshots and speculating about the story and new changes, etc. The spine-bound pad of toilet paper that is GameInformer made GOW3 this month's cover story. A GAME THAT WON'T BE OUT FOR A YEAR.

I really don't see the point in building hype for a game that's still a year out. It might steal the spotlight for a month or two, but then it'll fade into the background again, and they'll just have to start over again a few months before release to get the spotlight back again. So why even bother right now? WTF cares? How do we even know the April 2011 is a solid release date? Even Epic can't know that this far ahead. What a joke.

I'm pretty sure the game is a month or so before completion and that they are only delaying for "media purposes" which is completely beyond me as to why they would wait a whole year... who knows what is going to come out by then... this game may be eclipsed by something thats much much better, then they would be f*** and down in sales numbers (theoretically).
With that said, I'm still going to buy it

Didn't they do the same year advance promotion for the first game in the series? Anyway, I'm stoked for this game. I'm for sure picking this up the day after it comes out!

a lot of people do not enjoy the online multiplayer because... if you do not play it a lot and are not skilled, you will get destroyed. Gears of War has some of the most die-hard gamers. lol

I can't wait for GOW3 because of the co-op. I could care less about the multiplayer aspects of games now of days, except for something like Horde. I don't think enough games have a solid co-op experience. Game companies seem to like to put deathmatch in games that do not need multiplayer, like Bioshock 2, but very few do co-op well, if at all. My roomate and I played through both Gears in co-op and lost countless hours playing Borderlands and had a blast. The only multiplayer that I've played recently for an extended time was Bad Company 2.

Is this version going to have horde? I'm a level 50 on Gears and maybe 10,000 exp is from versus. I love me some horde!

Left 4 Dead is a pretty damn good co-op experience...especially with the wacky mutations they sometimes have. All Zombies as tanks? LOL.

I think Horde will be back for GOW3. Since Horde in GOW2, other games have had a multiplayer mode that is like it. Halo ODST had Firefight and Bad Company 2 has added a gametype called Conquest that's four players versus the computer. I think game makers can see there's a trend towards co-op in games. Even MW2 had the special ops that you could go though with a friend.
