before you flame, i searched, oh man did i search.I have been looking on every forum i know of and it seems there is a lot of information for this swap for the s13 but not so much for the s14? here is what i have gathered so far, please tell me what is right and what is wrong.

custom mounts are required, but the r32 crossmember will bolt up with no trouble.

the r32 driveshaft bolts up to the KA diff. and the stock LSD will also work fine.

the hood needs to have some of the skeleton removed to fit.

The rb32 radiator will fit with no trouble.

can anyone confirm any of this and tell me what is right and wrong out of it? also please mention if there is anything else that would need to be custom fabbed that i didnt mention / know about?

also, havent been able to find out anything on if the shifter will line up with the hole correctly? i know it does for s13 but i dont know how different the measurments are between the chassises to tell if it would also line up with the s14.

last but not least

does anyone have access to an english rb20 manual? or wiring diagrams? or anything related to the wiring? was able to find out how to do it for s13, but once again couldnt find anything for s14.

Thanks everyone!

please dont tell me to search or i will shoot myself in the face :p

as far as i know, which aint much, the r32 radiator is not "drop in". it takes a little work to get it right. and with the hood skeleton thing, just go with the greddy intake manifold. that way, you get more power, easier intercooler piping setup and alot of other benefits.

does anyone know anything concerning the mounts and crossmember? the radiator is not a big deal, if the rb32 radiator dosent fit i can always figure out a way to cram in the stock KA. should get me by for a while, dont plan on running anything out of stock spec on the motor for a while.

is money the problem? not to sound like an a$$hole, but if you cant afford it, maybe you shouldnt be doing it. theres an old saying if your not going to do something right, dont do it at all.

moneys not too big of a problem, i could do sr20, but i want to do an rb series, and all the custom stuff for an rb25 is a little much for me financially. All i want is 300rwhp max, so an rb20 will do that just great, and i enjoy high revving engines and knowing that the cast iron block isnt going to melt like aluminum might :)

RB20 oil pan fits perfect . mounts almost fit perfect some alterations and wam its in.

A big pain is the downpipe off of turbo.

transmission is identical to 240 and drive shaft bolts right up.

I'll get some pics when i can.

man, i was hoping somewhere around the 450's like the sr's, i'm basically thinking go with it cuz the IC piping is the highest sitting thing in my engine bay right now and i wouldn't mind going with a new manifold. but thanks for the heads up though, i'll figure something out

appreciate the help man

you REALLY need to watch your tone, noob! i at least contribute to the thread, and fyi, he did state that financially, hes not in the position to go all out on a motor setup. at least thats what i got from it. and btw, for what reasons do you like the 20 over the 25? not counting price? hehe a toughy huh?----------gotta pay to play!

ok, good answer. lets see what Rub has to say about this. it has to be a money thing that makes guys want to get the 20, not that its a bad thing- dont get me wrong. but everyone wants lowend TQ that the 20 doesnt have!

hehe yea im going with the rb20 because of money and less custom work (agian less money hehe) but higher revs is one of the few benefits i can see of the 20 over the 25.

ummm, there is no custom work with the 25 over the 20. only difference is initial buy-in and the 25 has lots more power.

edit: the motors are identical externally.

You will need a custom driveshaft for the 25. Both radiators fit fine. Everything basically bolts right up. The only thing I'm having a hard time w/ is finding someone to do mandrel bent intercooler piping. Oh, and the oil pan sits on the anti-roll bar.-I did the 20 for money reasons. So what? I'm a broke college student. It's still quick. I ran a 14.5 my very first time to the track in completely stock form bouncing off the rev-limiter. I've since turned up the boost and tuned it and I've been beating all the wrx's and lightnings around town. -rtsol Why are you doing the R31 RB20?

R31? RB20? ummm not me. if you clicked the link thats the CA18DET i was supposed to get from flashoptions. i wasnt tryin to knock anybody for getting the 20. i think its a really good motor, id get it over the sr20. all i was saying, is that the only reason someone would buy an RB20(except those few who want to build a motor to rev to 9 grand) ove rhte RB25, would be the cheap entry price. i dont blame anybody for going for it. look at me, i went with hte CA. its even cheaper than the rb20, has less TQ, and is a more rev happy motor.
