Sup y'all. So yes sad but true, either a journal or main bearing is out. Having a new engine shipped. I drive aggressively; I think the oil got too low and a bearing was starved of oil at some point. Hard to believe, but I'm passed the "why, oh why?!" point now. While the engine is out and new one is going in, what are some things that I should be thinking of? I am fairly new to Nissans, but I was thinking of the basics - new water pump, Moshimoto radiator, already running Stillen headers, maybe underdrive pulleys... So, give me some other ideas. While it's a part, what are some things I absolutely would be stupid not to do... Some things would be good to invest in now, and some things that I could consider? Thanks in advance for all suggestions.

Oh by the way this is not a track car or anything. I drive it 25,000 miles a year so I like to do moderate updates to improve performance/efficiency (driving enjoyment as well) and safety. Thanks!

What transmission is it pairing up to?

It's going to the CVT.

Which headlights do yo have? Those are the first projectors I've seen that I like; I already converted to HID lows and fogs. :)

Edit: Oh, maybe those are stock... your sig says you've replaced all OE lighting, so I thought they were aftermarket lamps.

Okay so at this point it looks like I'll be doing this during the engine swap:

Moshimoto radiator
OBX Silicone radiator hoses
2J (or equivalent) UD/lightweight pulleys
Water pump

And that's about it since I haven't heard much otherwise. Looking at software, but need to read more in the forums.

Haha yep stock, I just meant I installed HIDs to replace the halogen lamps. I like the stock look a lot I just want to take out the amber plastic pieces! I wonder if anyone makes a camshaft for this engine?

Yeah there are actually a few cams for it. If you Google search "MOD LIST ALTIMA" or "MOD LIST QR25DE" you'll find several threads about modding this engine. Jim Wolf technologies makes some. So does Horsepower Freaks.

To be quite honest I totally changing my mind about any performance gains to this engine. I have headers (which is probably THE biggest hp bottleneck, and best ROI for $/HP for this car), but I only got those because I needed to replace my exhaust manifold. The design of this engine being such a long stroke makes it really not worth modding. I'm installing the new engine this weekend, but not doing any performance mods as I planned. I am selling this car and going back to BMW.

Yeah, thats the better choice. unless you go boost it's not worth it. It's money down the tubes.
