gearbox ever get hot?

The plastic right below my shifter, it got very hot the other week when I was doing some highway driving. Is that normal???

Hot enough that it was very noticeable when resting arm on that part of the plastic. Hasn't happened since though....

auto or man?

i have an auto and i've noticed mine gets real warm but i'm guessing its the lighting. it seems to be only warm where the P RND lights are.

CVT/auto,,, yep right near the P-R-N-D,,,,,

hmm... I don't think it would be any lights though... those backlights aren't so bright, and it's not consistent (for ex it only got Hot one or two days, every other day it is normal temperature).

ya mine got warm the other day too and i have a CVT also..... it was odd but i didn't really think much of it, just thought it was the P R N D lights

well i'm not all that sure but thats what i figured it was. it only seems to do it at night when its lit and only on the P RND side, not the other. i never gave it any more thought than that.
